A limited number of Tesla Speedform sets were made for their 20th Anniversary
They were originally available for $250 in December
A small number restocked last week and are flipping for over $400
Good news for Tesla dorks: there’s a new way to support Elon with your hard-earned money. Tesla Speedform sets hit the Tesla Gift late last year, and they’ve recently restocked for everyone that missed out. These are the ideal way to collect and display all your favorite Tesla models in one place. Because of their popularity and apparent scarcity, resellers have been making a killing by flipping these sets. Last week’s restock was an opportunity to keep the party going.
Where does the time go? It’s been over two decades since Tesla Inc. first launched, although it wouldn’t be until 2008 that the first Roadsters actually hit the road.
In that time, Elon Musk has gone from a liberal darling and literal savior of the Earth to social media edgelord to a major player in Trump’s second administration. Oh, and Tesla made some new cars.
The Tesla Speedform set is an homage to every Tesla model they’ve produced over the last 20 years, from the original Tesla Roadster all the way to the Cybertruck. Seven different cars were cast in a metal alloy and finished in matte gold.
Their undersides reveal a laser-etched wordmark, and they can be freely removed from the stand for playtime.
The Tesla Speedform set sells from Tesla’s shop for $250. They were first produced in December 2024, giving collectors a chance to snag one as a Christmas present.
These have proven to be one of Tesla’s most popular bits of merch. The original sets sold out quite quickly and were regularly reselling above their MSRP. Now they’ve restocked, and the fun is kicking off again.
Right now, Tesla Speedform sets are flipping for more than $300 at a time, with some sellers getting up to $450 or even $500 for theirs.
At a $250 MSRP, resellers that got in on last week’s restock stood to potentially double their money. We’ll take that opportunity every time it comes up.
And this is hardly the first time we’ve seen a Tesla product resell. We’ve covered diecast Cybertruck models, Tesla “Optimus” toys, even a Tesla surfboard. All of these have flipped for hundreds, even thousands of dollars over their retail prices.
Is there a lesson to be learned here? If so, it’s probably something along the lines of “Tesla dorks will overpay for dinky merch,” although we probably don’t need to tell you that.
In any case, make sure you subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated on everything worth reselling, Tesla-related or otherwise. It’s a big world out there, and there’s always something new to flip.
