Diecast Tesla Cybertruck Models Are Reselling Too

Back in November, preorders opened for a new Tesla product: a 1:18 scale model of the upcoming Cybertruck. With a wide range of features and sharp edges just like the real thing, the diecast Cybertruck would sell out in a few hours. Now that the models have begun to ship, resellers are making tons of cash by flipping them to Tesla fans that missed the preorder window.

We’re going to let you in on a little bit of reselling wisdom. Tesla fans, especially the ones that love Elon, are easy money. Any time Tesla churns out new and wildly overpriced product, these guys will rush in to buy.

In the past we’ve covered items like the Tesla Surfboard and “Not-a-Flamethrower“. These come out for hundreds, even thousands of dollars, and end up selling out in a few minutes. Once they start shipping, resellers rake in profit by flipping them to people who missed out.

Back in November 2023, a new toy hit Tesla’s webstore. It was a diecast model of the Tesla Cybertruck on a 1:18 scale. Featuring over 180 metal and plastic parts and designed using CAD data from the real Cybertruck, this model sparked joy in the hearts of Tesla nerds everywhere.

It weighs more than three pounds thanks to the real stainless steel used in its construction. Open the doors, play with the wheel, turn the tires, or use it as a paperweight. Just be careful with those panels, they look pretty sharp…

The Tesla Cybertruck Diecast model cost $225, and preorders were only open for a brief period in November. After they sold out, they didn’t restock again.

Now these orders are shipping, and the resellers that got in on the drop are coming out ahead. Like we said, Tesla products usually very lucrative, and this drop was no different.

Right now, Tesla Cybertruck Diecast models are reselling for around $400 to $500. After they sold out and through December, resellers were listing them at around $350. It seems like hype is picking up now that the models are actually shipping.

This comes out to anywhere from $150 to $275 in profit for resellers that got one. Flips like these are simple, straightforward, and pretty easy. Pay attention for future releases on the Tesla webstore. Elon likes making money, and there’s always something new in the works.
