Target released this pride-themed Drag Queen Bird figure under their Spritz brand in April of 2023. Over the past few years, the Target seasonal birds have established a dedicated base of collectors. This particular bird is referred to by some fans as “Labird”.
A new addition to Target’s home decor line is making a stir on TikTok. These fabric bird figurines have gone viral for their are design and wildly popular. As a result of this unexpected fandom, stock for the Drag Queen Bird figurines has sold out almost everywhere, and resellers are beginning to profit. Despite retailing for just a few dollars, eBay has recorded numerous sales for ten times the retail price, or more.
These birds have made a big splash online. The Target Drag Queen Birds were first sold on May 1, and it took very little time for them to get noticed. There are numerous TikToks with thousands of views of the bird, with one of the biggest posted on May 2nd by TikTok user frogexecutive.

Whether it’s a clever astroturfing campaign or a genuine social media trend, the topic has garnered 20 billion views on TikTok in the first week of May. More than enough to get the ball rolling on sales of the birds.
Since then, they’ve sold out pretty much everywhere. The birds are available both in store and online, with online stock depleting extremely fast.
Since online sales are a no-go, the best way to find one of the Target Drag Queen Birds for sale is to hunt in store. Check your local Target’s home decor aisle and Pride sections. That said, it may be best to not get your hopes too high. These birds were likely not produced in very significant numbers. Target had no way of anticipating demand could be so intense, so it may be some time before a significant restock can occur.
With the retail supply depleted and demand continuing to increase, buyers have no choice but to turn to resellers to get their fix. Since May 1, eBay has recorded 13 separate sales for the birds. Early on, resellers were getting around $100 per figurine.
Considering these retailed from Target for just $5, that’s an incredibly profitable score for any reseller. Recent sales have dropped in price, down to around $50-$60, which is still an excellent opportunity.
There are around 20 more Drag Queen Birds listed for sale on eBay as of May 8, all asking somewhere between $50 and $100. With sales to trickling in at the $50 price point and the social media popularity continuing to rise, these are looking good. Barring a major restock or some other shift in supply and demand, we expect to see this reselling for significant profit into the immediate future.
This isn’t the first time a random piece of merchandise from Target has resold. We’ve previously covered a Lion Menorah sold by Target for Hanukkah 2022. After picking up attention on TikTok, they sold out and resold for well over retail. Products like these come up fairly frequently, and are a great opportunity for any reseller.
