A limited number of Pink MoonSwatches were sold April 1
The drop alludes to the annual “Pink Moon”
The $310 watches are flipping for up to $500
It’s not all jokes and japes on April Fools Day. Swatch has rung in April with a new addition to their coveted MoonSwatch line. The “Mission to the Pink Moonphase” launch was a massive success, with collectors lining up outside stores for their chance to snag one. Now we’re seeing them resell for more than double what they retailed for. Let’s get into it
If you’re a regular reader, the name “Mission to Moonshine” should be immediately familiar. Swatch began their collaboration with OMEGA over three years ago, and have parleyed their success into a popular line of semi-affordable and highly collectable timepieces.
The Mission to Moonshine series consists of numerous watches matched to a different celestial bodies. Their designs are largely based on OMEGA’s Moonwatch, but built with Swatch’s quartz-powered internals.
We’ve covered several different drops from the collection, and Swatch continues to update it with topical additions like 2023’s “Eclipse” MoonSwatch and the recent Snoopy designs. Most MoonSwatches retail for around $300, and collector interest sees them regularly resell for upwards of $500
So any new addition to the Mission to Moonshine line is of interest to resellers. For April 2025, Swatch announced their Mission to the Pink Moonphase Swatch.
These are built with the same OMEGA-inspired case design featuring Swatch’s Bioceramic technology. There are two main draws; the obvious flamingo-pink color, and a moon phase complication featuring two pink moons.
So why all the pink? Well, April 12 marks the rise of 2025’s Pink Moon. The name actually has nothing do with the color of the moon; it’s actually derived from the simultaneous blooming of Phlox Subulata in the eastern US, whose vibrant pink marks the start of spring.
And that’s good enough for Swatch to pump out a new run of their profitable MoonSwatches. They sold their Mission to the Pink Moonphase Swatch on April 1 for $310. Only a select few locations would carry them, and they would not be sold online. Like previous MoonSwatch releases, the lines outside stores could stretch for blocks.
But sometimes waiting around for a few hours can be very lucrative. There have been quite a few examples of profitable MoonSwatch releases, and resellers have learned to get in line early for their chance to snag one at retail.
Right now, Swatch’s Mission to the Pink Moonphase MoonSwatch is reselling for $400 to $500 at a time. This represents a potential profit of up to $200 for resellers that got to stores in time.
Unless you’re a brain surgeon, it’d be hard to find a more profitable use for your Tuesday morning. These watches might not have been the easiest flip to get in on, but they were definitely worth the attempt.
And believe it or not, these are actually one of the less-profitable launches we’ve seen from the Mission to Moonphase line. Last year’s Snoopy MoonSwatches were flipping for up to $1,500 early on.
In any case, we recommend keeping a close eye on the Mission to Moonshine collection from Swatch. They’ve clearly built a desirable product, and pretty much every new addition has gone on to resell for hundreds of dollars over MSRP.
