Are You Ready for Tomorrow's PlayStation X Reebok Drop?

We’re going to keep this pretty quick and action-oriented since the drop is in less than 24 hours. If you want to learn more about the entire collection, read our full coverage here.

But here’s a TL;DR: PlayStation and Reebok have worked together on a new line of gaming-inspired sneakers dropping globally this month. The entire collection sports a flat-gray retro colorway taken straight from the OG PlayStation.

This is the same color and design language Sony used for their ultra-popular 30th Anniversary console collection, and we’ve seen those fly for up to $4,000 over MSRP.

Notably, each of the three shoes from the collection is region-locked to either the UK, the US, or Japan, and available through a particular retailer on their drop day. END, the UK retailer, opened their a weeklong raffle for their pairs yesterday. Sony has not updated their listing for Pump Omni Zone II, so we’re not sure if they will be releasing through an identical raffle or how many units will be available.

These feature a custom pump ball in PlayStation’s signature colors, two lace options with metal tips, removable lacelock cable, and plastic lace dubraes styled like console buttons. Hidden text shows the US launch date of 9/9/1995.

They’re exclusively available through CNCPTS NY for $220. Because of the uncertainty around the drop, we recommend being ready to cop at Midnight ET. END opened their raffle at around 1 AM UK time.

Even if you’re not an experienced sneaker reseller, we strongly recommend jumping on this release. There’s been a ton of interest in PlayStation’s anniversary releases lately, and this sneaker collection picked up a ton of viral attention when it was announced last month.

We were hoping to use yesterday’s UK drop as evidence for the profits on this drop, but we won’t actually have any confirmed sales for another five days at least. No presale listings exist yet either.

Still, we’re very confident this is a flip worth pursuing. Last year’s PlayStation 30th Anniversary collection was one of the most popular and profitable releases we’ve ever covered, and this line of shoes is following in that collection’s footsteps (get it?)

Again, with total production numbers unknown it’s difficult to get an accurate read on how rare the sneakers actually are. BEAMS, the retailer for the Japanese-exclusive pairs, updated their Instagram with a post saying they will be selling their pairs between October 24 and October 27 in-person and online, implying they might have more stock than expected.

Of the three pairs, the US and Japanese designs have the most hype, and the US Pump Omni Zone IIs will almost certainly have the most competition. Sneakerheads are already bracing for a hectic drop when they go live tomorrow.

Our thoughts? Go after this with both barrels. We expect these to be very popular and plenty profitable. Don’t skip, unless you hate money.

Oh, one other thing. Aside from the individual pairs, Reebok also announced a very limited “Stacking Box” collection consisting of all three pairs in a single, bespoke box.

These are limited to just 750 units globally, with individual retailers apparently receiving small allocations. END did not open a raffle or sale for their Stacking Boxes, so it’s possible the collection will only drop once all the individual shoes have sold out..
