  • Current resale prices range from $150 to $225 on eBay with confirmed sold listings showing strong demand

It’s time to add a new trading card game to your reselling radar. Riot is officially launching their “Riftbound” TCG in North America, and they’ve celebrated the game’s launch and League of Legends’ anniversary with a limited release of Worlds bundles. These absolutely flew when Riot listed them for sale, and now resellers are turning quick profits flipping the bundles. Let’s take a look.

Riftbound TCG Launch Details

Riftbound is Riot’s entry into the TCG world. They’ve been teasing it for months and have already rolled it out in China, with a full US scheduled for October 31. Ahead of the official launch, they restocked a limited number of Riftbound Worlds Bundles through their webstore.

The timing was calculated. Millions of fans watching Worlds 2025, the most-viewed esports tournament globally, and Riot releases a limited TCG bundle celebrating the event. The $99.99 bundle launched October 28 at 9 AM PT through the Riot Merch Store, requiring a Riot ID login with a two-bundle purchase limit.

The bundle included a metallic foil playmat, matching deck box, card sleeves, an exclusive Panda Teemo promo card, and three oversized battlefield cards themed after Worlds host cities. These are preorders shipping in December, but TCG collectors and League fans cleared stock in under 20 minutes.

Riftbound Worlds Exclusive Cards

This follows the Disney Lorcana playbook almost exactly. When Disney’s TCG launched in 2023, their limited starter sets and collector boxes sold out instantly and flipped for double or triple retail.

Riftbound has similar advantages: massive existing fanbase, established IP, and Riot’s esports infrastructure. The difference is League’s audience skews more competitive gaming, while Lorcana targeted Disney collectors. Both work, just different markets.

Riftbound Worlds Bundles Resell

We already knew these bundles were worth buying thanks to an existing secondary market for Chinese edition bundles. One eBay listing shows a Chinese first-wave bundle sold for $225, while another moved at $300.

Following yesterday’s release, English language bundles are currently listed between $150 and $200, with active presale listings showing consistent buyer interest despite December ship dates.

Multiple sellers are offering confirmed presale units, indicating some resellers successfully copped multiple bundles through different accounts or connections. The fact these are presales shipping in December hasn’t dampened demand at all. TCG collectors are used to waiting for sealed products, and the Worlds tie-in creates urgency around owning a piece of League esports history

Several factors are driving current values. First, this is a brand new TCG from Riot Games, one of the biggest gaming companies in the world. League of Legends has 180 million monthly active players, and even a tiny fraction of that audience getting into the TCG creates massive demand for limited collectibles. Second, the Worlds 2025 theme creates a specific moment in time that can’t be replicated. This isn’t just another card game product, it’s commemorating the 15th anniversary of League esports and one of the biggest events in competitive gaming.

The Panda Teemo promo card is exclusive to this bundle, and promotional cards in TCGs historically hold significant value. We saw a similar pattern played out before Lorcana’s launch, with the D23-exclusive promo cards flipping for more than $4,000 at a time

The required Riot ID authentication also limited bot purchases somewhat, though organized resellers still found ways around it. That barrier to entry means fewer bundles hit the market compared to typical limited releases where bots dominate.

Trading cards as a category have proven incredibly resilient for resellers. Pokemon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, and now newer games like Lorcana and One Piece all maintain strong secondary markets. Riftbound is entering a mature, proven space with built-in demand from the massive League audience.

Risk Factors

The biggest risk is if Riftbound flops as a game. If player interest dies quickly and the competitive scene never materializes, these bundles lose their appeal beyond pure League collectors. Trading card games are notoriously difficult to launch successfully, even with big IP backing.

Another concern is Riot potentially doing another print run or releasing similar bundles for future Worlds events. While they called this “limited edition,” companies sometimes define that term loosely. Watch Riot’s social channels for any restock announcements.

The Bottom Line

If you copped bundles at retail, you’re looking at 50% to 100%+ profit margins once these ship in December. The dual appeal to League fans and TCG collectors creates a strong value floor. This is final sale with no refunds, so there’s risk if Riftbound completely bombs, but Riot’s track record with esports and the massive League audience suggest this is a relatively safe hold.

The 20-minute sellout tells you everything about demand. League fans showed up hard for this, and trading card collectors recognized the opportunity. Whether you’re holding to flip or holding for your collection, this bundle represents a meaningful moment in both League esports and TCG history.
