Key Points

  • The Casio x J Balvin Ring Watch retailed for $200 and sold out the day it dropped

  • No secondary sales have confirmed yet, but the 2025 anniversary edition of the same watch flipped for $350 to $400

  • Production numbers are unknown, which will be the biggest factor in where resale prices land

Casio’s Ring Watch is one of the more fascinating objects the watch world has produced in recent years. It’s a fully functional timepiece mounted on a finger ring and exactly the kind of product that tends to develop a devoted collector following fast. J Balvin’s take on it adds his signature visual language to the mix: gold brickwork across the face, rhinestone accents, a flower motif on the caseback, and custom packaging to match. It dropped today and sold out quickly. Now we wait.

Casio CRW001JB-9 Ring Watch

The original Casio Ring Watch made its debut in December 2024 as part of Casio’s 50th anniversary of watchmaking. The concept is rooted in the company’s actual origin story: founder Tadao Kashio first found commercial success making yubiwa pipes, small cigarette holders mounted on finger rings.

The Ring Watch was Casio leaning all the way into that history, rebuilding their iconic digital watch functionality into a case small enough to wear on your finger.

That anniversary model, the CRW001-1, retailed for $120, sold out almost immediately, and was consistently flipping for $350 to $400 by early 2025. For a $120 item, those are serious margins.

The J Balvin version, the CRW001JB-9, carries the same form factor with considerably more visual flair. The dial features a gold brick texture that mirrors Balvin’s aesthetic, rhinestone accents above and below the display, and a laser-engraved flower on the caseback. Custom packaging continues the gold brick theme. It retails for $200, modest relative to where the original landed on the secondary market.

J Balvin has collaborated with brands ranging from Jordan to McDonald’s, and his fanbase is large, engaged, and accustomed to buying limited drops. This isn’t a vanity product.

Will These Watches Resell?

There are no confirmed sold comps yet. The watch dropped today and orders won’t ship until June 8, meaning completed sales are still a couple of weeks out.

The anniversary edition is the best reference point we have: $120 retail, consistently $350 to $400 on the secondary market. The J Balvin version is $200 retail, so if the percentage gain is similar, the per-unit profit lands in a comparable range. If Balvin’s fanbase drives stronger demand than the anniversary model, the ceiling could be higher.

50th casio Ring Watch for Sale

The single biggest unknown is production volume. Casio has not disclosed how many units were made. The anniversary edition was clearly limited enough to sustain strong resale prices months after release. If the J Balvin run is comparable in size, the outlook is good. If it was produced at a much larger scale to meet anticipated celebrity demand, prices could settle significantly lower. There’s no way to know right now.

Bottom Line

This is a wait-and-see situation. The collab has a lot going for it: a compelling product, a high-profile co-signer with a loyal following, and a strong precedent from the watch it’s based on. But until secondary sales start coming in and the market finds its floor, there’s no reliable number to put on this.

We’ll be watching the sold listings as they start rolling in. If this one moves like the anniversary edition, resellers who got one should be in good shape.
