Key Points

  • Limited-edition chocolate medals launch February 13 on TikTok Shop and February 14 at the Hershey’s Store for $5.99

  • Hershey’s has confirmed this is a one-time-only release with no restocks planned

  • Gimmicky food items can resell for huge profits

Hershey’s wants you to feel like an Olympic champion from your couch, and resellers should absolutely let them. The candy giant is dropping limited-edition milk chocolate medals for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina this week, and the combination of real gold foil, a low price point, and limited production makes this very attractive for resellers.

Hershey's "Real Gold" Olympic Campaign

Each chocolate medal is crafted with embossed designs, wrapped in gold foil, and comes attached to a Hershey’s-branded ribbon, so it actually looks like a wearable medal.

It’s part of Hershey’s “It’s Your Happy Place” campaign tied to their Team USA sponsorship, featuring athletes like speedskater Erin Jackson and figure skater Jason Brown. The medals launch on TikTok Shop on February 13, then hit The Hershey’s Store locations in Hershey, Pennsylvania and Times Square, New York on February 14 at 8 a.m. ET.

The critical detail: Hershey’s has explicitly confirmed this is a one-time-only release. No restocks. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. That kind of confirmed scarcity from a major brand at a $5.99 price point is exactly what makes gimmick food flips work.

We’ve had a lot of success flipping limited edition food and drinks. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pie retailed for $45 back in 2023 and flipped for around $500 after all 3,000 units sold out in hours.

Coca-Cola’s “Happy Tears” kits were a TikTok Shop exclusive at $10, sold out in batches of 5,000, and resellers were flipping them for $50 or more almost immediately. The TikTok-only distribution creates a natural supply bottleneck since not everyone has the app set up for shopping, and the audience skews younger, meaning plenty of potential buyers on eBay who missed the drop entirely.

On top of all that, the Winter Olympics are a global event generating massive attention right now. Olympic-themed collectibles always attract buyers who want a piece of the moment, and a $6 chocolate medal wrapped in gold foil is exactly the kind of fun, giftable, Instagram-friendly item that people will overpay for after it sells out.

How to Buy One

You’ll need a TikTok account with TikTok Shop enabled to buy on February 13. If you don’t have one set up already, do it now. Search for the official Hershey’s account on TikTok and keep an eye on their page for the listing to go live. No specific drop time has been announced for TikTok Shop, so check early and often.

Hershey

For the February 14 Hershey’s Store drop, the online store opens at 8 a.m. ET. If you’re near Hershey, PA or Times Square in New York, the physical stores will also have them. Hershey’s already gave away free medals to the first 400 guests at both locations on February 7, so in-store demand is clearly there.

Bottom Line

Buy multiples if possible. At $5.99 per medal, even grabbing five or ten keeps your total investment under $60. If these follow the gimmick food playbook, expect secondary market prices in the $30 to $60 range per medal within the first week, with potential to climb higher as the Olympics progress and supply dries up completely.

Six bucks, confirmed limited release, no restocks, Olympics hype, TikTok Shop exclusivity. This checks every box for an easy gimmick food flip. Set your alarms for February 13 and grab as many as you can.
