Key Points

  • DJ Mustard is working with Heinz

  • Details are slim, but the collection is expected to release in summer

  • Limited edition condiments have flipped for hundreds in the past

How’s your mustard collection coming along? If you’ve still got some empty space in your fridge, you need to check out the upcoming collaboration between Heinz and hip hop producer DJ Mustard. Things are still a ways out, but we’ve seen a sneak preview featuring exclusive new flavors and a jewel-encrusted mustard bottle. It might seem strange, but weird stuff like this can be extremely lucrative for resellers. Why not take the chance?

Heinz Mustard X Mustard Crossover

It’s finally happening. Big names. Big money. Big opportunities. DJ Mustard has confirmed he will be working with Heinz for his very own collection of mustard, set to release later this year.

Why? Well, his name is Mustard. Heinz makes mustard. Do we need to spell it out for you? The collaboration was teased earlier this month, and we got some footage of Mustard meeting with the minds behind Heinz’ mustard division (is that a thing?)

Details are still light, but if you watched the video you can see a bedazzled mustard bottle get plunked down at the end. Maybe they’re rhinestones, maybe Heinz is about to give away a few carats worth of diamonds.

And it also looks like DJ Mustard is workshopping some new flavors with Heinz. The tagline for this drop is “a common condiment done uncommonly well.” Heinz has a mailing list open for updates on the collaboration open right now. We recommend signing up.

Again: why? Believe it or not, collectable condiments are definitely a thing. We’ve been running this blog for just about two years now and have covered a lot of wild stuff. It’s not common, but even ketchup and hot sauce can become a profitable item under the right circumstances.

Want some specific examples? We’ve got some specific examples. Last June, Heinz debuted their “Every Sauce” in the UK. 100 bottles were raffled away, and resellers were able to flip them for up to $100 at a time.

If you’re a sriracha lover, you might remember the shortage that began a few years ago. Genuine Huy Fong sriracha became a serious commodity, with sealed bottles trading hands on eBay for around $50.

And we need to mention TRUFF. The truffle-infused sauce brand is backed up by a heavyweight marketing department. Aside from their artisanal bottles, TRUFF has made a number of limited edition collaborations with major saucemakers.

TRUFF’s Hidden Valley crossover was probably their most notable. In 2023, these $25 bottles were routinely flipping for $50. In 2024, their Darth Vader bottles of lava sauce started reselling for up to $80 at a time.

All we’re saying is don’t stick your nose up at mustard. It might be an everyday item, but there are always collectors out there willing to pay top dollar for esoteric releases. Collectable soda, collectable Skittles, why not collectable mustard?

And you (probably) heard it here first. Make sure you subscribe to our newsletter if you want to stay updated on everything worth reselling (it’s not just ketchup and mustard, we promise).
