Replica C-3PO Heads were sold for $120 this week
They sold out online and are flipping for around $200
It might still be possible to find them at theme park gift shops
Earlier this week, Disney launched a new piece of limited edition merch online and at their parks. Part of the Galactic Archive line of higher-end collectables, these C-3PO Heads are stuffed with detail, interactivity, and annoying voice lines. Resellers quickly jumped on the drop, and all of the Heads sold out online. Now that they’re reselling, finding one at the gift store is your best chance for making a profit during your next Disney vacation.
Do you ever look around your room, see an empty space and think “I could really use an effete talking robot head right about now”? Well, have we got the product for you.
Disney has started selling their interactive C-3PO Heads through their online store and at gift stores at Galaxy’s Edge. These are highly accurate reproductions of the robot seen in all nine of the main films, and the attention to detail is impressive.
His eyes light up and he can recite 20 different lines from the film in Anthony Daniels’ voice. And if you really want to get inside his head, you can pull off the head and faceplates to reveal a replica of the inner wiring seen during “The Phantom Menace”.
It’s a new era in human-cyborg relations, and Star Wars fans are digging it. Disney sold these C-3PO Heads for $120 as part of their Galactic Archive line. Previous drops have included highly detailed reproductions of Kylo Ren’s helmet and a “Dejarik” set, the chess-like boardgame seen in the films.
These have all been very popular with collectors, and Disney has ensured their value by keeping production highly limited. Just 3,720 of these Galactic Archive C-3PO Heads were produced, and all of the online stock disappeared in a few minutes.
Limited production + eager collectors is a pretty simple equation. Star Wars fans are notorious for their willingness to pay over retail for their favorite toys, and this drop is no different.
Right now, Galactic Archive C-3PO Heads are reselling for just about $200. We’ve seen pretty good volume for them, but it seems like most resellers missed this drop and many of them went to collectors and fans.
At $200 a pop, resellers stand to make around $80 or so in profit pending fees. Not at all bad, and it’s possible these will rise in value in the next few days.
There’s still some good news if you missed out on this flip. While the Galactic Archive C-3PO Heads are completely sold out online, it might still be possible to find them at gift stores in Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge park.
Definitely don’t buy a park ticket just to go looking for these, but if you happen to have a trip planned in the next couple days make sure you swing by the gift shop and see if any are left on the shelf. If it’s a free $80 just waiting for you, why not?
And if you want to stay tuned on other upcoming flips, you need to subscribe to our newsletter. We’ll be covering everything worth reselling this holiday season, but you won’t hear about any of it if you’re not subscribed.
