Tesla has been updating their store with new Cybertruck replicas
Prices range from under $50 to $200+
Resellers are flipping them for serious profits
Ho ho ho, Tesla fans. It’s time to stuff your stockings and decorate the mantel with toys based on your favorite electric pedestrian killer. Tesla has been releasing several replicas of the Cybertruck recently, and collectors have been snatching all of them up. After selling out, these toys are reselling for well over retail, with some sales for over $500 at a time.
The Cybertruck is the vehicle of the future right? It’s electric (sci-fi), built from stainless steel (very sci-fi), and is the brainchild of a multibillionaire autistic savant (extremely sci-fi).
But it’s missing one thing that’s usually associated with futuristic cars: it can’t fly. Yet. In any case, Tesla has remedied this small error with a limited edition line of magnetic Levitating Cybertruck replicas.
These are 1:24 scale models, finished in silver with functional headlights and taillights. The model and its base both contain magnets, and it rises into the air and floats in place with a tap of the hand.
Tesla sold these Levitating Cybertruck models for $250 earlier this month. They were extremely popular on social media, and they sold out almost immediately after Elon Musk himself retweeted a post covering them.
While Tesla didn’t guarantee holiday shipping, several buyers have posted that their Levitating Cybertrucks have already arrived, making them a perfect Christmas gift.
And if you want all the fun of the Cybertruck with less of the price tag, Tesla also produced miniature versions of the truck that actually move.
Cybertruck Wind-Up Racer toys are 1:43 diecast replicas with a functional drivetrain. Wind the key in the truck bed and send it across your room. If you look closely, you’ll see the driver side windows are smashed up, a nod to Tesla’s infamous demonstration of the truck’s bulletproof glass.
Tesla sold the Cybertruck Wind-Up Racers for $35. These were not nearly as limited as the Levitating Cybertrucks but sold out just as fast, even without an Elon retweet.
With all this new swag on the market, Tesla fans are set up for a very merry Christmas, Festivus, Hannukah, pagan solstice celebration, or just generic winter holiday.
In any case, both of these toys are flipping for serious profits. Right now, Levitating Cybertruck models are reselling for upwards of $500, more than double what they retailed for.
And the Cybertruck Wind-Up Racers are usually flipping for $70 to $80. Again, around double retail. If you managed to stock up on these after they dropped, the potential profits are considerable.
Always bet on Elon and his army of dorks to save the day. This is far from the first Tesla product we’ve covered, and we’re not surprised to see these resell.
