These were one of the most lucrative flips of 2023
Sold for $135 at select Costco stores in California, New York, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington
Early eBay sales reaching $400 as out-of-state buyers scramble to secure pairs during peak hype
It seems like there’s plenty of supply, so this flip won’t last forever
It’s finally here! Head to Costco right now to snag a coveted pair of Nike SB Dunk Lows with Costco’s iconic $1.50 hot dog on the sole. These went viral after their reveal last year, and Costco has surprise-dropped them in a handful of states. Early sales are very promising, so add these shoes to your shopping list if the Costco near you is stocking them.
These sneakers generated massive viral attention when we first covered them back in October 2025. The entire upper is covered in grey fleece matching Kirkland’s iconic $14 crewnecks. The Kirkland Signature box logo sits on the heel like it was pulled from a toilet paper package. The tongue features cursive “skateboarding” text instead of standard Nike SB branding.
The kicker is the hot dog graphic hidden under the Zoom Air cushioning. The shoe also comes with a hangtag designed like a Costco Executive membership card, custom insoles, five lace options, and special blue and red Costco-branded wrapping paper.
WWD reported confirmed availability at stores in New York City, San Francisco, Portland, Laguna Niguel and Los Feliz (California), Kirkland (Washington), and Aloha (Oregon). Additional California, Nevada, and Washington locations are scanning in pairs as well. This is clearly a limited regional drop concentrated in West Coast and select East Coast markets.
If you’re in one of these states, head to Costco. Stock numbers aren’t confirmed, but the regional exclusivity and surprise drop timing suggest quantities are limited per location. More states will likely see scans in the coming days, but right now these five states have the monopoly.
After official images dropped in October, the shoes were supposed to release during Holiday 2025 (October-December). They didn’t. Then rumors shifted to Spring 2026. Today’s shock drop at actual Costco stores caught everyone off guard.
With pairs just hitting shelves today, the secondary market is moving fast. Early eBay listings are closing at $400, driven by out-of-state buyers who can’t access Costco locations in the five confirmed states. That’s $250+ in profit before fees at current prices.
The viral factor here is massive. This collab has all the ingredients: weird enough to dominate social media, legitimate enough that sneakerheads actually want it, and backed by Nike SB’s proven track record of food collabs becoming grails.
The question is how long the hype holds. Nike SB Dunk Low collabs average $560 on StockX long-term. Pop culture collabs like this typically hit 3 to 5 times retail in the first weeks before settling. At $135 retail, a conservative 2 to 3x multiplier puts these at $270 to $405 for sustained resale once the initial FOMO dies down.
Here’s the critical factor: we don’t know total production numbers yet. If this stays a limited regional release concentrated in five states, scarcity will keep prices elevated. If Nike opens this up nationally or through SNKRS, supply floods the market and prices drop.
The fact that these are appearing at actual Costco stores rather than Nike SNKRS or skate shops suggests this might stay a regional exclusive. That’s good for resellers who can source locally. The regional concentration also explains why early eBay sales are so strong – buyers in Texas, Florida, and the rest of the country have no other option.
This is not a final sale situation. Costco has one of the most generous return policies in retail – 90 days on most items with your membership. If the market tanks or you can’t move pairs, you can return them. That dramatically lowers your risk compared to most sneaker flips.
The main risk is timing. Prices are high right now because of surprise drop FOMO and regional scarcity. If Nike announces a nationwide SNKRS release next week, these crater. If more states start scanning in heavy quantities, supply increases and prices drop.
The smart play is moving pairs quickly while hype is peak. List today, ship tomorrow. Don’t sit on these hoping they appreciate – the viral moment is now. Early sellers are banking $250+ profit per pair. Late sellers might get stuck at retail or below if supply expands.
If you’re in one of the five confirmed states, this is a solid flip opportunity with low risk thanks to Costco’s return policy. The $400 early sales show real demand, and the regional scarcity is creating FOMO from buyers nationwide. Grab what you can at retail, list immediately, and ride the hype wave.
Out-of-state resellers should watch for expansion carefully. If your state starts scanning in the next few days, jump on it. But don’t pay resale prices hoping to flip higher unless you’re very confident in sustained demand.
The Kirkland hot dog meme is strong, Nike SB collabs have proven track records, and the surprise drop timing maximized buzz. This could be the weirdest successful sneaker flip of 2026.
