Key Points

  • FF7 Revelation Collector’s Edition retailed for $350 and PS5 and Xbox units sold out within days

  • The bundle is now reselling for around $750 on eBay, with top sales reaching $1,100

  • Nintendo Switch 2 units remain in stock at retail with identical statues and bonus contents

Video game collector’s editions usually take months, sometimes longer, to turn a real profit on eBay. Not this time. The Final Fantasy VII Revelation Collector’s Edition, built around a three-figure statue and marking the last chapter of the Remake trilogy, sold through most of its retail stock in a matter of days instead of the usual slow fade. That’s a much faster flip than Square Enix’s own Rebirth bundle managed two years ago, and it has resellers wondering whether demand is unusually strong, supply was unusually tight, or both.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Collector's Edition Contents

Preorders for FF7 Revelation’s Collector’s Edition opened on Square Enix’s webstore a little over a week ago, priced at $350 across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Every platform gets the same contents: the Deluxe Edition of the game (physical copy, SteelBook, artbook, mini soundtrack, and a Magic: The Gathering promo card) bundled with the Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth statue, plus a story expansion pass and a handful of in-game bonus items.

Revelation caps off the Remake trilogy, and Square Enix ran the same $350 playbook with Rebirth in 2024. Those Rebirth units still trade on eBay in the $450 to $650 range today, which makes this sellout’s speed stand out even more.

PS5 bundles were gone within hours of preorders going live, and Xbox editions have since followed. Sold listings on eBay now cluster around $750, with a handful of outlier sales pushing past $1,100. The Nintendo Switch 2 version, still available direct from Square Enix at $350, is trading for similar money.

Rebirth’s collector’s edition took a while to build resale value because it stuck around at retail for weeks. Revelation didn’t get that chance.

Whether Square Enix produced fewer units this time or demand for the trilogy’s finale is simply running hotter, the effect is the same: a bundle that would normally need months to flip is already doing it in the first week. The statue is doing most of the work, since it’s identical across every platform and it’s what collectors are actually chasing, not the console the game ships on.

FF7 Revelation Switch 2 Collector Editions Are Available

While most of these bundles have sold out through Square Enix’s website and other retailers, the Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy 7: Revelation’s Collector’s Edition are still available at retail prices. These bundles contain the same contents collectors are looking for: the statue, the artbook, and SteelBook.

Resellers picking one up now might need to price a bit under the $750 average to compensate for a different copy of the game most buyers would prefer, but that should still translate to a very lucrative flip. Square Enix also backs the US webstore order with a 14 day return window after delivery and lets buyers cancel anytime before it ships, which takes some of the sting out of buying at retail if the market cools before April.

Japanese FF7 Remake Trilogy Bundle Details

Square Enix’s Japanese e-store is also still taking preorders for a separate Trilogy bundle exclusive to Switch 2, and it’s a different animal entirely. That set folds in physical copies of Remake and Rebirth alongside a display stand, extra SteelBooks, and a keychain for 77,777 yen, or roughly $500.

Getting it into the US means routing the order through a reshipper or proxy service, and once shipping, customs, and eBay’s fees get added on, resellers would need to list their bundles at $650 or more just to break even. The contents outclass the domestic Collector’s Edition on paper, but there’s no cancellation window or return policy backing an international proxy order, so anyone chasing it should be comfortable with the extra risk and wait.

Bottom Line

The domestic Collector’s Edition is the safer bet right now, especially through the Switch 2 version, since it’s the only one still available at retail with a real return policy attached. The Japanese bundle could be more lucrative in the long run, but shipping and proxy costs eat into the margin fast, with no fallback if a buyer never shows. Given how quickly this one sold through, waiting on either isn’t a great plan.
