The giveaway-only Tailgate Pack includes 48 Pop-Tarts across six full-sized boxes of bowl flavors
Entry runs through December 21 at 6 PM PST via Pop-Tarts’ Instagram account
Limited production run with no retail availability makes this a pure collector’s play
How about some sugar with your sugar? Pop-Tarts is giving 100 Tailgate Packs that include all the exclusive flavors from this year’s Pop-Tart Bowl. This is a unique opportunity for resellers and Pop-Tart collectors (we’re sure they’re out there), but you have just 24 hours left to enter the giveaway.
The Tailgate Pack splits into two teams competing at the 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl on December 27. Team Sprinkles brings Frosted Cherry, Frosted Cookies & Crème, and the new Protein Slammin’ Strawberry. Team Swirls counters with Frosted Hot Fudge Sundae, Frosted Wild Berry, and the recently revived Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
Each box comes with custom game branding organized by team, basically turning six regular Pop-Tarts boxes into a collector’s item. The packaging references the bowl’s edible mascot tradition where fans vote on which giant Pop-Tart gets lowered into a toaster and eaten by the winning team after the game.
Here’s where it gets interesting for resellers. Pop-Tarts limited editions have a track record. The Bowl Mascot Frosted Strawberry boxes from last year are currently listed on eBay around $20-30 for a single 8-count box that probably retailed under $5. The Fantastic Four collaboration boxes saw similar appreciation, with complete sets commanding premiums months after release.
This Tailgate Pack is different though because there’s zero retail availability. You can’t buy it anywhere, you can only win it. That scarcity combined with the Pop-Tarts Bowl’s viral status from last year creates actual collectible potential beyond just flavored pastries in a box.
The Pop-Tart Bowl became one of 2024’s biggest sports memes when the edible mascot got eaten on live TV. Pop-Tarts leaned hard into the absurdity, and it worked. The 2024 game drew massive social media engagement, the kind that makes branded limited editions more valuable than they should be.
Visit @PopTartsUS on Instagram before December 21 at 6 PM PST and follow the official contest rules in their pinned post about the Tailgate Pack. Entry is free but giveaway-only means odds depend entirely on how many people enter.
The 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl happens December 27 at 3:30 PM ET on ABC. Winners will likely be announced shortly before or after the game.
Let’s be honest about what this is worth. You’re not getting rich off Pop-Tarts. But if you win one and want to flip it, sealed collector boxes from giveaway-only promotions do sell. Similar limited food collectibles from major brands can hit $75-150 on eBay when they’re truly unavailable elsewhere and tied to a cultural moment.
The catch is you need buyers who care about the Pop-Tarts Bowl specifically, collect Pop-Tarts branded items, or want the full six-flavor set as a novelty. That’s a narrower market than, say, sneakers or trading cards.
Keep in mind this is food with an expiration date, so value degrades over time unless you’re selling purely for the packaging. Most buyers who’d pay real money would want it sealed and relatively fresh.
This isn’t a game-changing opportunity, but it’s a zero-cost entry for something with legitimate scarcity. If you’re already following food collectibles or Pop-Tarts limited editions, throw your name in. Worst case, you eat 48 Pop-Tarts. Best case, you’ve got a sealed collector’s box that appreciates while everyone else is stuck watching eBay listings climb.
The giveaway window closes tomorrow. If you’re interested, enter now before it’s just another “should have entered that” situation.
