The Hennessy VSOP x LeBron James Limited Edition features the standard VSOP blend in exclusive orange packaging with LeBron’s crowning gesture
Retail pricing appears to range from $59-85 depending on market, with online retailers listing it between those prices
Available now at select liquor stores globally, with limited quantities per location
LeBron James is taking his talents to cognac with the new Hennessy VSOP Limited Edition, launching globally this month at select retailers. The vibrant orange bottle features LeBron’s signature “crowning” gesture and his 23rd season branding, marking the second collaboration between the NBA legend and the cognac house following their 2024 VS release.
This is Hennessy pulling straight from the LeBron playbook. They launched with a social campaign called “The Second Decision,” referencing his infamous 2010 trade announcement. Instead of revealing a team move, LeBron announced he’s “taking his talents to Hennessy VSOP” in a spot that plays up his hosting skills and cocktail game.
The bottle launched October 7 through Hennessy’s retail partners worldwide. Online retailers like Liquor Geeks have it listed at $59 (marked down from $85), while Wine-Searcher shows an average retail price around $80. Pennsylvania state stores and other major liquor retailers are carrying it, but availability varies significantly by market.
This is a “select markets” release, which in Hennessy terms means you’re not walking into every liquor store and finding it. Major metro areas and states with good liquor distribution will see better stock. Smaller markets might not get it at all.
Technically, reselling liquor without a license isn’t super-legal, but that’s not a major consideration for most sellers. Obviously, don’t move it in bulk and DEFINITELY don’t sell it to minors. Check your state’s laws before attempting to make any sale.
The 2024 Hennessy VS x LeBron release from their first collaboration shows up on eBay mostly as empty bottles for collectors, selling for $20-40. Some sealed bottles appear but move slowly. Cognac collectors exist, but they’re buying for drinking or long-term holding, not quick flips.
If you’re in a state that allows private alcohol sales and have the right buyer network, limited edition spirits can work. But this isn’t a retail arbitrage play for most resellers. The margins don’t justify the legal complexity and shipping restrictions.
For bars and restaurants in major cities, having this bottle on display is marketing. For LeBron fans who collect memorabilia, it’s another piece. For cognac drinkers, it’s standard VSOP in special packaging.
If you’re a LeBron collector or want a conversation piece for your home bar, grab one at retail. The packaging is solid and it’s priced in line with standard VSOP releases despite the limited edition status.
The real play might be in a few years if this becomes a sought-after collector’s item and regulations in your area allow private sales. But that’s speculation, not a flip strategy.
