Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist are dropping signed vinyl tonight
Details are very slim, but only 100 will be available exclusively online
Expect to see them sell out and flip for 3 to 5 times retail
If you’re on the hunt for celebrity signatures or just some extra cash in your wallet, we’ve got something worth taking a look at. Freddy Gibbs and The Alchemist are all set for the release of their upcoming album “Alfredo 2”, and they’ve teamed with Amazon for an exclusive release. Later today, 100 signed copies of “Alfredo 2” will be sold online during the screening of their short film in LA. This will be a very lucrative, very difficult flip that every reseller should be going for.
Yep, we’re back with more vinyl. While we try cover a wide range of products, vinyl has quickly become one of the most popular options for fans and resellers.
So what’s happening? Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist have partnered once again to produce their second studio album, “Alfredo 2“, which follows up their Grammy-winning record from 2020.
The album is set for release on July 25 (alongside an unannounced project from Tame Impala), but they’ve set up a special listening party tonight at the HVW8 Gallery in LA. They will also be screening the album’s accompanying short film that’s currently published on YouTube.
The event runs from 6 to 10 PM PDT, and they’ll be selling signed “Alfredo 2” vinyl exclusively through Amazon at the same time.
We actually don’t have many details on this drop. We don’t know which of the four cover variants will be used, what the price is, or even where the record will be listed. As we get closer to the drop time we’ll be keeping a close eye out for new listings related to this release.
Make no mistake, this will be an incredibly hard vinyl to buy. It seems to be somewhat flying under the radar of many collectors, but with just 100 copies available and signatures from two big stars, expect to see it sell out in seconds.
And what will it be worth? Assuming that Amazon will sell the records for $30 to $100, we’re anticipating triple digit profits in most scenarios. Signed vinyl can be incredibly lucrative, with recent releases from artists like Alice Cooper, Kid Cudi, and Sabrina Carpenter all reselling for hundreds of dollars.
This is definitely worth going for, but don’t get your hopes too high. This release will probably be botted pretty heavily, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of the records end up in the hands of resellers.
Or at least, we hope they do. If you want to learn more about reselling, make sure you subscribe to our newsletter. From Build-a-Bear plushes to popcorn buckets, we cover everything worth flipping for a profit.
