30th Anniversary PS5 Slim bundles and controllers restock today
They are $500 and $80
The consoles are currently reselling for around $700, controllers $120
We’ve got a little tip for our early morning readers. Sony is all set to restock part of their 30th Anniversary collection through PlayStation Direct. You’ll be able to snag new PS5 Slim Anniversary bundles directly from the manufacturer, with a little luck. While these aren’t quite as popular or profitable as the Pro bundles, resellers have still had a ton of success flipping them for easy money. We’ll go over everything you need to know.
Alright, a bit of background first. If you’re already familiar with this collection, feel free to skip down to the next section.
We got our first look at the PlayStation 30th Anniversary collection back in September. The celebration included a new line of exclusive consoles, controllers, and accessories all wrapped up in slick retro-gray designs.
The highlight was the PS5 Pro Anniversary bundles. These were built with Sony’s latest technology, and were limited to just 12,300 units, globally. Even at a retail price of $1,000, PS5 Pro bundles sold out in seconds.
Will the PlayStation 5 Pro Anniversary bundle restock? Almost definitely no. Not only were these highly limited, but each console was individually numbered, making extra production very unlikely.
But it’s not all bad news, as Sony has confirmed that additional PS5 Anniversary Slim consoles will be hitting the PlayStation Direct website today.
PlayStation 5 Slim Anniversary bundles are $500 and include a special PS5 Slim console, matching controller and an assortment of bonus goodies.
Resellers have made some very respectable profits flipping these consoles. Immediately after launch day we saw them reselling for about $1,000 at a time, and have settled down to around $700 since then.
Sure, they aren’t flipping for $3,000+ like their big brother Pro bundles, but a few hundred bucks from a single flip is still great. Here’s what you need to know to snag one.
While Sony originally split this collection across multiple retailers, today’s restock will be exclusively through PlayStation Direct. To buy a PlayStation 5 Anniversary bundle, you’ll need to sign in or sign up to PlayStation Direct before the drop.
Check out our guide here for a full walkthrough on making your account, but it’s no different from any other retailer. Make sure your card info is updated, accurate, and ready to go. Double check your addresses, names, zip codes; just make sure all your info is right well ahead of the drop.
PlayStation 5 Anniversary consoles will restock at 9 A.M. PDT on October 29. While the original drop was a queue system, this one should be a straightforward sale. Get in fast, check out faster.
We’re expecting this restock to sell fast. The PlayStation 30th Anniversary collection has been wildly popular among gamers, and these new consoles are very attractive as we get closer to the gift-giving season.
Along with the consoles, Sony will be restocking PlayStation 30th Anniversary DualShock controllers at the same time for $80. These are a potential outside option if you’re looking to maximize profit, and we’ve seen them resell for over $120 at a time
Not something to bank on, but worth keeping in mind. If you miss the consoles, make sure you grab a controller at least.
And that’s pretty much the whole story. Today’s drop won’t be as bombastic as the original launch, but it’s a good chance to make your lunch money for the next week.
