Key Points

  • 500 liquid infused “God Said No” records dropped on the Taco Bell app

  • They were $20 and sold out instantly

  • Resellers are flipping them for over ten times that

Last month, Taco Bell teamed up with upcoming artist Omar Apollo for a limited edition collaboration. New hot sauce, combo meals, and even an exclusive vinyl. Apollo’s fans and resellers showed up in force during the drop, and all of the vinyl sold out in seconds. Now they’re flipping for several times what they retailed for, and many collectors are hoping to add one to their shelves.

God Said No Liquid Infused Vinyl

For many Americans, fast food is an indelible part of life. Your favorite chain is as much a part of you as your political affiliations, religion, and family, and there are plenty out there willing to ride or die for their preferred brand of MSG and sugar.

Taco Bell has done a great job endearing itself among Zoomers, and part of their success has been a line of celebrity partnerships. McDonald’s might have Travis Scott and Saweetie, but Taco Bell has Pete Davidson, Doja Cat, and Lil Nas X.

Last month, upcoming Latino artist Omar Apollo joined the brand for a multimedia collab. Taco Bell launched their “Disha” hot sauce, allegedly an Apollo family recipe, and a new combo meal to pair it with.

And at the same time, Apollo’s fans were able to snag a Taco Bell-exclusive variant of his latest album “God Said No” on vinyl.

Not just any vinyl though. These “God Said No” records were infused with a red-orange liquid made to resemble hot sauce, although we strongly recommend against cracking the records open and drinking it down.

The Taco Bell X Omar Apollo vinyl was very limited, with just 500 of them available on the Taco Bell app for $20. They released on September 24, and sold out in under a minute.

Novelty vinyl like this has become much more popular in recent years. We’ve covered past releases like Alice in Chain’s fly-studded vinyl or Mötley Crüe’s “Shout at the Devil” vinyl injected with real blood.

These usually pick up a ton of attention ahead of the release, and are extremely popular among fanbases. With so few being pressed and so many people competing over them, the end result is pretty predictable.

Taco Bell Liquid Vinyl Resells

These vinyl are expected to start shipping in a few weeks, but that hasn’t stopped resellers. We’ve seen a few of these go up on eBay, and the prices are looking good.

Right now, the Taco Bell X Omar Apollo liquid-infused vinyl record is reselling for more than $250 at a time, with at least one seller managing to move theirs for $500.

Omar Apollo Taco Bell Vinyl for Sale

It’s impressive, but not terribly surprising. Ahead of the record’s release, Omar Apollo’s fans were obsessing over the new vinyl and Reddit threads covering the release were full of people looking for someone to buy from.

This seems like a win-win-win for everyone involved. Fans get their records, resellers get their money, and Omar Apollo gets to brag that his records are selling for hundreds of dollars. If anyone has complaints, we haven’t heard from them yet.
