THPS 3 + 4 Collector’s Editions are available now
They cost $130 and include a functional deck
Resellers are already listing them for double their MSRP
It’s almost time to get tubular. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be releasing soon as a remastered bundle, and collector’s editions have appeared online. These are putting the physical back in physical collectibles, shipping with a fully functional Birdhouse skateboard deck. For those looking to take their virtual shredding into the real world, these collector’s editions are a must have. Let’s get into it.
There’s nothing like a good remaster. With creative juices running dry across the entertainment industries, movie studios and game publishers are choosing to turn back the clock to a more profitable era (10 years ago.)
And what better game to remake than Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater? It’s one of the most iconic game franchises of the 2000s, and gamers have been clamoring for its return for years. The first two games were remastered as a bundle in 2020, and now the THPS 3 + 4 remake has been confirmed for 2025.
Old games, new graphics. THPS 3 + 4 have been remastered at 4K fidelity, and will be releasing on PC and consoles, including the Switch. Aside from the base game content, the remaster will also launch with characters from Bethesda’s rebooted DOOM series.
Like any new release, the THPS 3 + 4 remake is getting a collector’s edition. Unlike most new releases, these collector’s editions are actually cool
Instead of shipping a cruddy Chinese statue or plastic pin set, Activision has teamed with Birdhouse Skateboards. Every copy of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will include a functional skateboard deck. Hang it on the wall or take it the park; these are the real deal.
THPS 3 + 4 Collector’s Editions are $130 and available for every platform but PC. Aside from the boards, they also include a host of premium in-game content and three days of early access when the game launches in July.
They are available right now from retailers like GameStop and Amazon, and we recommend you jump on this opportunity while it lasts.
With how popular the THPS remakes have been, we’re expecting these collector’s editions to very well on eBay after the game launches. This will be your only chance to buy one at retail, and they will likely not be available for long.
THPS 1 + 2 released with a similar collector’s edition, and these were profitable to resell shortly after launch. Prices have come down, but at their peak resellers were flipping them for up to $250.
And even though THPS 3 + 4 Collector’s Editions are still available for preorder, resellers have begun listing them for $250 to $500. At least one buyer has decided to pull the trigger on a listing for $220.
Of course, it’s still too early to draw any conclusions about the value of these collector’s editions. We’ll need to wait for them to actually sell out first, and then prices will gradually rise as we get closer to launch day.
If the game is reviewed well (and initial impressions are promising), expect to see Tony Hawk 3 + 4 Collector’s Editions to resell for way over their MSRP.
