Target sells a Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda that’s going viral on TikTok
The boxes are $20, but not yet available online
Resellers are flipping the ofrendas for as much as $120
Well, it’s September. Different people have different reactions to this month. You might be happy that cooler days are just around the corner, or sad that summer is coming to a close. For resellers, Fall is one of the most profitable seasons. Halloween is where we see a ton of seasonal merchandise blow up on social media, and become commodities to trade back and forth. Today we’re looking at a particular product being sold at Target right now, and how you can make money by reselling it.
If you’ve been keeping up with our site, you’d know that TikTok can make or break a single product. In 2022 it was a menorah that looked like a dildo. Earlier this year, we saw extremely cheap Target merchandise blow up because some TikTokers thought they were the ideal mixed drink cups.
And now the trend has come around again. Today, we’re looking at an ofrenda box sold by Target. Ofrendas are a traditional part of Dia de los Muertos. They serve as a sort of altar used to welcome a deceased friend or family member to the celebration.
Naturally, that also means that a variety of them are mass produced and sold as plastic crap by various retailers. One of these is a Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda sold at Target. These were also available last year, but it seems like the 2023 version is picking up a lot of attention.

This Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda box is being stocked at local Target retailers right now, but has not yet appeared for sale through their website. In person sales only for now. The Target Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda costs $20, if you can find one in stock.
And you will want to try to find one. As is the case with merchandise that goes viral on TikTok, these ofrendas are selling out everywhere, and many have already begun to resell ahead of the holiday.
Now it’s time for resellers to have fun. If you’re planning a Target run some time this month, make sure to check the seasonal decoration aisle for these ofrendas. If you get lucky, you might have a ticket to make some quick cash.
Right now, a Target Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda is reselling for around $100 on eBay. These are in no way a limited product either, so you can fill up as many as your cart will fit. At $20 a pop retail, buying and reselling these ofrendas from Target is an easy way to multiply your money by five times.
Sure, making a five minute drive to Target and then putting up a few listings on OfferUp or eBay is a lot of work. Worth it? Well, that’s for you to decide, but it’s hard to argue with easy profit. Next time you’re at Target, we recommend being on the lookout for some of these ofrendas.
That’s all for today. Looking for more profitable items to flip, or just want to stay informed about the latest reselling trends? Subscribe to our newsletter, and have everything worth knowing sent directly your inbox.
