Eight translucent colors launch December 10 at 8 AM PST for $300 each, available in limited quantities
Standard black and white 3D models currently resell for $400 to $500
Analogue previously saw massive resale success with their glow-in-the-dark Pocket handhelds, which flipped for $200+ over retail immediately
Analogue is pulling out the nostalgia playbook tomorrow with eight new translucent Funtastic variants of their 3D console. If you remember the see-through N64s from the late ’90s, this is exactly that energy brought to 2025. Their glow-in-the-dark variants for the Pocket handheld flipped for major profits in 2023, and the 3D is already flipping for major profits. Don’t sleep on this one.
Analogue is releasing the 3D in eight translucent colors tomorrow that mirror the original Funtastic N64 lineup. The company is being upfront about limited quantities, which means expect these to sell out fast. Green will probably move quickest given its nostalgia factor, but honestly any color should perform similarly on the secondary market.
This follows Analogue’s proven pattern of dropping special editions after their standard releases. We covered their initial 3D launch, where black and white units that retailed for $250 quickly hit $400-500 on eBay. The regular models are still maintaining those prices months later, which is solid for electronics.
Analogue did something similar with their glow-in-the-dark Pocket handhelds back in September 2023. Those retailed for $250, sold out in under 15 minutes, and immediately flipped for $450-500. That’s $200+ profit per unit just for securing a preorder.
The difference here is price point. At $300 retail versus the standard 3D’s current $250 price tag, you’re starting higher. But if these maintain anywhere close to the percentage premiums we’ve seen on other Analogue special editions, we’re looking at potential $600+ resale prices.
Analogue is also selling translucent versions of their controller at the same time. These are priced at $45 at labeled as “highly limited”, so they’re definitely worth keeping on your radar, but will be a riskier flip than the consoles themselves.
eBay’s your platform here. The standard 3D models are showing consistently profitable sales with minimal haggling. List these immediately after securing them, but don’t undersell in a panic. Analogue’s limited edition drops historically maintain value because they rarely if ever restock special colorways.
Returns are allowed within 30 days but carry a 15% restocking fee, so factor that into your math if you can’t flip quickly. The bigger risk is Analogue announcing another batch or different colors, though their track record suggests special editions stay one-and-done.
Also worth noting: if you’re holding multiple units, be strategic about listing timing. Flooding the market yourself will only drive prices down.
These limited drops from Analogue typically sell out fast. The glow-in-the-dark Pocket was gone in under 15 minutes, and demand for the 3D has been stronger than any of their previous releases. Tomorrow at 8 AM PST is your window.
