Owala sold Lilo & Stitch-themed bottles this week
They were $35 and $40 and available as a bundle
The bottles have flipped for as much as $100
Earlier this week, popular water bottle manufacturer Owala produced a limited edition two-part collaboration with Disney’s Lilo & Stitch. The new bottles were a hit with fans and resellers alike, and the entire collection sold out quick. Now we’re seeing them reappear on eBay for solid profits and fast sales. Let’s get into it.
You’ve probably heard all about Disney’s live action remake of Lilo & Stitch. The film is set to release this month, and the marketing cycle is in full swing.
As resellers, we’ve been all over this movie. Disney films are a great opportunity to find buyers with an adult’s wallet and a kid’s brain. There’s all kinds of new merch popping up; even collectable Lilo & Stitch Spam cans are reselling.
And now Owala has joined the fun. If you’re not familiar with the brand you can read our primer here, but the TL;DR is that Owala has stepped in on the collectable water bottle trend to compete with Stanley. They have a line of Disney Princess bottles that these new colors fit into nicely.
Two new Owala designs were produced for this drop: red and cream for Lilo and blue for Stitch. Lilo bottles were 32oz while Stitch was 24oz; both are built on Owala’s FreeSip platform.
Unsurprisingly, all of the available stock sold out fast when they released on May 13. Bundles were particularly popular among resellers, and you could pick up both bottles for $75. Owala’s friendly return policy made this a no-risk, easy flip.
How much would you pay for a water bottle? What if it was really, really, super-duper limited? And what if it referenced your favorite cartoon characters?
For some folks out there, this was just an irresistible combination. Lilo & Stitch Owala water bottles are currently reselling for around $120 to $150 as a bundle, although some sellers have flipped single bottles for as much as $100.
Never underestimate a Disney adult and their capacity to waste money on toys. Reselling water bottles might not be the flashiest flip, but it’s easy and profitable.
And if easy and profitable are some of your favorite words, you’re on the right website. Make sure you subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated on everything else worth reselling, from cameras to keyboards.
