Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Consoles Leaked for 2026

NateTheHate described the Ocarina of Time project as a “full remake,” not a simple HD port, and Video Games Chronicle sources have corroborated the game claim. Shpeshal Nick followed up separately, saying he had been told the remake carries “a pretty big budget,” which he read as confirmation that this is a ground-up rebuild.

The console claim comes from Nick alone, which makes it the less verified of the two leaks, though his track record is solid.

This would be the first limited edition variant for the Nintendo Switch 2, which launched in June 2025 and has significantly outpaced early expectations. Nintendo has released Zelda-themed hardware before: the Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED in 2023 and the Hyrule Edition Switch Lite in 2024 both generated strong secondary market demand. An Ocarina of Time Switch 2 would carry even more weight.

Limited edition consoles are a natural fit for resellers, and this setup has several factors working in their favor.

The demand case is easy to make. Ocarina of Time is arguably the most nostalgic game in the entire Zelda franchise, with a fanbase that spans multiple generations of players who are now adults with disposable income. Nintendo is unlikely to manufacture a limited edition variant at the same scale as the standard Switch 2, and leaks point to a Summer 2026 window, giving Nintendo time to let anticipation build.

Hardware costs have also risen. A limited edition variant priced at $50 to $100 above the standard $450 console would not be a surprise, and a smaller production run at a higher price is a pattern Nintendo has used before. That combination of elevated cost and constrained supply is exactly where secondary market margins tend to open up.

Here is where it gets practical. When the Switch 2 launched, Nintendo rolled out a gated preorder system through My Nintendo that required accounts to have been established prior to the console’s reveal, at least 12 months of Nintendo Online membership, and at least 50 hours of gameplay logged on the original Switch.

Nintendo could use a similar eligibility system for a limited edition console. If that happens, accounts that were created after the console’s official reveal would likely be ineligible for the early preorder window.

That detail matters right now. The Ocarina of Time console has not been officially announced yet. If Nintendo uses the same reveal-date cutoff they used for the Switch 2, the window to create an eligible account is still technically open. Readers who do not already have a Nintendo account might want to create one now, before any announcement drops.

We want to be very clear: this is speculative advice based on a pattern from one prior launch. Nintendo has not confirmed they will use any eligibility system for future hardware. But given what we saw last year, it is a reasonable precaution with very little downside.

Nothing here is confirmed. The game leaks are credible and coming from multiple sources, but the console is still a single-source claim from Shpeshal Nick. We may not get official word from Nintendo for months.
