Earlier this month, two premiere snowboard manufacturers teamed up for an exclusive collaboration with Lamborghini. A (very) limited number of these Lamborghini snowboards were produced, and buying one was not easy. The few that made their way into the hands of resellers have already sold, and we’re seeing confirmed sales of $4,000 to $5,000, more than double the total retail price of the collection. Let’s get into it.

Not everyone is a fan of winter. Bad roads, the flu, seeing your loved ones over the holidays; things get a little overwhelming. But if you’re a skier or snowboarder, this is probably your favorite time of the year.

And if you know anything about reselling snowboards, it can still be a pretty fun season. On December 10, Automobili Lamborghini revealed they would be making their first foray into wintersports with their very own snowboard.

The Lamborghini snowboard is a three-way collaboration between the carmaker, Union Binding Company, and Capita Snowboards. Just 200 of these boards would be produced and sold through a short list of authorized dealers.

They were in sold in two pieces: the boards themselves are based on Capita’s Warpspeed design for $1,500, and Union’s Falcor binding for $500.

Finished in a distinctive purple and emblazoned with Lamborghini’s badge on the front, these snowboards will definitely catch some attention on the slopes, or at least signal to others that you had a spare $2,000 to blow.

And if you’re already willing to spend that much, what’s a few thousand more? When these boards released through authorized dealers on December 19, they did not take long to sell out and reappear on eBay.

Right now, the Union Capita Lamborghini Snowboard is reselling for more than $4,000 at a time. Most sales are for a complete set of board and bindings, but we have seen a handful of individual bindings sell for around $1,000.

With a retail price of $2,000 (expensive for a snowboard but not too extreme), resellers that managed to snag one could double their money in under 24 hours. There’s plenty off winter left too, so hopefully these boards will see some time on the slopes and not just as display pieces.

Don’t feel bad if you missed out though. As we said, just 200 of these boards were produced with only 11 participating dealers in the US.

Getting an allocation was not easy. You’d need to live close by, and hope that one of these stores hadn’t already picked a buyer. Still, a little luck and $2,000 later, you’re walking away with easy money from a difficult flip.
