Jazwares sold a 5-figure box set of their Micro Galaxy Squadron toys
These included previously released and sold out designs
Resellers are flipping them for easy profit
Well, May the 4th has just passed, and we saw all kinds of new Star Wars-related merchandise and promotions. If you weren’t paying attention, you might have missed Jazwares’ Star Wars Box Sets that dropped last week. Collectors that missed out on the previous releases were eager to snatch these up, and everything sold out fast. Now resellers are flipping them for well over what they retailed for. Let’s take a closer look.
Star Wars has been around for nearly 50 years now. In that time, an incredible number of toys have been produced. From the classic Kenner figures to $1,000 collectable lightsaber replicas, there’s something out there for children of all ages.
Jazwares is an American toy company that’s been in business since 1997. If you’re a reseller, you’re probably familiar with the Squishmallows IP from Jazwares, but they also produce plenty of other toys including some licensed Star Wars merch.
What we’re looking at today is part of Jazwares’ Micro Galaxy collection. These include various starfighters and action figures on a small scale, from the original trilogy to Disney’s creatively bankrupt sequels.
These have been very popular with fans. The Micro Galaxy Squadron collection was created with collectors in mind, and has unique designs not seen anywhere else and produced in limited numbers.
Last week, Jazwares sold the Micro Galaxy Squadron Series 3 Box Set. This included five different toys that had been previously produced and sold out. For collectors that missed out, this was their opportunity to jump back in.
The toys included were:
Plo Koon’s starfighter and Aayla Secura’s starfighter are Rare and Chase variants respectively. This means they are significantly rarer and produced in smaller numbers than the other toys from the collection.
The Jazwares Micro Galaxy Series 3 Box Set sold for $80 from Jazwares’ site. They were limited to 1500 units in total, and sold out fast.
And after they sold out, there were plenty of disappointed collectors who missed out. You know who loves helping out collectors and only asks for a little off the top in return?
Right now, the Jazwares Micro Galaxy Box Set is reselling for between $100 and $150, with pretty decent volume. Some resellers have tried to sell the individual starfighters, but selling as a complete set appears to be the best bang for someone else’s buck.
On a good sale, resellers are walking away with $50 or more in profit. Not the craziest flip we’ve covered lately, but very solid. Items like these are the bread and butter of and reseller looking to pad their income with low effort, low risk flips.
