Hasbro's Boba Fett Throne Room Playsets Hit eBay

There’s a new entry in Hasbro’s Vintage Collection, and it’s got manchildren across the world excited. The Star Wars Boba Fett Throne Room closed pre orders last week, and is being received warmly. The massive set measures nearly two feet wide, with a variety of small details to titillate even the most stoic fan. While the retail price is certainly high, the price resellers are asking is even higher. Oh yes, these are reselling, even though they aren’t expected to ship until September.

What is the Boba Fett Throne Room Playset?

Remember when you were a kid, and you got excited by the idea of a cool new Star Wars toy? Well, it turns out some things never change. In much the same way that it seems Disney is content to continue churning out sequel after sequel, Hasbro is still making a killing on plastic merchandise.

To that end, may we present the Hasbro Boba Fett Throne Room playset. Based on its appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, the Throne Room is of course the former haunt of Jabba, before being taken over by Boba Fett.

The set measures 20 inches wide, 10 inches tall, and 10.5 inches deep. It features numerous details both large and small from the show, like the ornate throne, firepit, and various cups and goblets. All together, the Throne Room playset includes 50 miscellaneous accessories to place throughout the scene. The set is quite modular, with large pieces being removable and interchangeable according to the whims of the collector.

What figures come with the Boba Fett Throne Room Playset

Don’t let the name throw you for a loop, because a Boba Fett figure is not included in the Boba Fett Throne Room playset, and there is no Fennec Shand figure either. The only figure included in the Boba Fett Throne Room playset is an obese Bib Fortuna. Collectors will need to shop separately to fill out the set.

If you’re averse to three digit prices for Star Wars-themed plastic, look away. The Boba Fett Throne Room playset costs $229, and was available for sale through the Hasbro Pulse store. Buyers were limited to five sets per order during the preorder window.

Speaking of which, it’s worth noting these playsets were available to purchase for a quite a while. The preorder window opened in February 2022, and sets were available to purchase until October 10, 2022. As it was a Hasbro Pulse product, the Boba Fett Throne Room playsets were produced in limited numbers, and will likely not restock any time soon.

Boba Fett Throne Room Playset resells

While the sets aren’t set to ship until September, there have been a smattering of sales for them on eBay. Since the preorder window closed in October, eBay has recorded around 40 sales of the set. Interestingly, despite resellers having listed these for months, sales have ticked up strongly in the last few weeks. Hasbro originally intended to ship the sets in summer 2023, but the push to September may have put them back in the minds of collectors.

Currently, the average price for a Boba Fett Throne Room playset on eBay is around $400, with several sales beyond that number.

That’s a pretty good profit for any reseller. We have no way of knowing the total production of these sets, or if Hasbro will restock them in the future. The preorder system would seem to indicate Hasbro produced these to order, so extra stock would be a surprise.

All of this is to say you can always count on Star Wars fans to pay ridiculous amounts of money for toys. Keep your eyes peeled for future Hasbro Pulse releases, especially ones as expensive as the Boba Fett Throne Room playset. Big price at retail means big price at resale.
