Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand Heroic Edition

The Magic Caster is a smart wand that allows fans to practice their favorite Harry Potter spells. The want connects to compatible smart home devices to produce sounds, colors, and haptics based on which spells are being cast by the user.

Are you looking for a new piece of plastic to blow your paycheck on? Are you still hung up on a series of children’s books from the 90s? Does the idea of turning on a light with a swish and flick titillate you? Then you should check out the Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand. These sold in October 2022, and were fairly popular. In addition to the three standard versions, there was also a limited edition run of 1,000 “Heroic” wands. In the months following their release, the aftermarket for these special wands has continued to increase, and reached prices that are hard to believe.

What is the Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand?

If you’re looking for a gift for someone who never quite outgrew their Harry Potter phase, you might want to pay attention. The Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand is a smart device that allows users to perform a variety of actions. It can connect to devices around the home like lights or TVs and turn them on and off by waving the wand like a real wizard.

Additionally, users can also practice casting spells from the series. The manufacturer claims you can “Unlock 50+ spells for hours of interactive adventure.” Exciting! Like all products produced past 2020, the Magic Caster Wand comes with a companion app to track your progress, spellbook, experience points, location, and blood type.

There were three standard versions of the Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand: Loyal, Defiant, and Honorable. The only distinction is their design; all the wands have the same functionality. They’re all made the from the same material, the incredibly magical polyvinylchloride, and stuffed with electronics and LEDs to emphasize whichever spell you’re casting.

Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand Heroic Edition

The standard wands were not produced in limited numbers and could be purchased freely, but there was also a fourth version that was quite rare. The Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand “Heroic” Edition was a special offering to only the most dedicated Harry Potter fans.

Heroic Magic Caster Wands were limited to just 1,000 units worldwide, and were only available to members of the Harry Potter Fan Club. When the Heroic Wands went up for sale on October 20, 2022, they sold out in under 10 minutes.

Since their release, the Heroic Edition Harry Potter Magic Caster Wands have not restocked in any numbers. They remain a remarkably rare and valuable product.

How much is the Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand?

Despite the differences between editions, all of them sold for the same price. The Harry Potter Magic Caster Wands cost $150, including the Heroic Edition. Wands were available worldwide through their webstore.

While the Wands probably weren’t intended as a limited time product, that’s what they ended up as. In April 2023, Harry Potter Magic Caster Wands were pulled from sale without warning. It’s believed that Kano, a company involved with Warner Bros, is claiming the Wands are an infringement on their copyright.

In response, the Wands have been pulled from sale, and have yet to return. The only way to buy a Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand is to buy one secondhand, or from a reseller.

Harry Potter Magic Caster Wands are reselling

Because the Wands have been pulled from stock, they have begun to resell for over what they retailed for. All editions, including Heroic Wands have resold in the months since their release in October.

Currently, standard edition Magic Caster Wands are reselling for around $200 to $250, depending on condition. Unopened boxes sell for more. That represents a profit of up to $100 per wand, but it required holding onto it for a few months, not to mention the market only exists because the wands have been pulled from sale.

Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand For Sale

But that’s only the standard editions. Remember, these weren’t limited, and sold in fairly significant numbers. On the other hand, Heroic Edition Harry Potter Magic Caster Wands were limited to just 1,000 total units and sold exclusively to Harry Potter Fan Club members. These were significantly rarer, more popular, and much more expensive on the aftermarket.

Immediately after the Wands’ release in October, Heroic Harry Potter Magic Caster Wands were reselling for around $900. That’s a profit of $750, made in less than 24 hours. In our opinion as professional resellers, we consider that “pretty good”.

And it gets better. Since October, the average price for a Heroic Wand has continued to rise. Whether it was the discontinuation of the standard wands, or simply people pining for rare things, a number of sales for the limited wands were recorded through 2023. Several Heroic Edition Harry Potter Magic Caster Wands have sold on eBay for more than $1,000.

Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand Heroic For Sale

Remaining eBay listings are asking for $2,000 or more for Heroic Edition Wands. It’s not clear yet if there are enough Harry Potter fans that rich, desperate, or pathetic to shell out that much for a glorified TV remote, but we’ll have to see.

That’s all for now. If you ever wondered how dedicated Harry Potters were to having their toys, now you know. Keep your eyes out for similar items in the future, and we’ll be sure to post updates on what’s worth reselling. Make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter to never miss a beat.
