2024 is looking to be a big year for pop-punk fans. Blink-182 is fully reunited and looking at a year of touring, Paramore is free of their 20 year long record deal, and Green Day’s latest album, “Saviors”, drops later this month. To promote it, the band sold a limited number of CDs signed by all three band members. They quickly sold out, and now resellers are flipping them at a massive premium.

Well, it certainly seems like Green Day is back in the news. They rang in 2024 on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, changing the lyrics in “American Idiot” to take a stab at Donald Trump and his supporters.

Whoa! That’s pretty edgy, Billie! Hey, quick question, what word was censored just before that? Never mind, let’s not get into it.

In any case, Green Day is just like pretty much any major band from the early 2000s: somehow still relevant. They’ve managed to avoid breaking up, and have continued to tour and produce albums.

Their newest release is just around the corner. “Saviors” will be Green Day’s fourteenth studio album, and it’s all set to release on January 19. Green Day also announced that a (very) limited number of signed “Saviors” CDs would be sold.

These were made available exclusively through Green Day’s website on January 4. The CDs include an art card that has been signed by Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool. They cost $15, and were limited to one per customer.

Signed CDs and vinyl records are very popular items. Fans are always looking or autographs, and it’s even better when they’re directly on a piece of collectible media.

These CDs sold out pretty quick. Green Day is a household name, and there were plenty of fans eager to jump on the opportunity. Of course, this drop was also noticed by resellers, who were even more interested.

Within hours of their release, signed Green Day “Saviors” CDs were reselling for around $150. Considering a retail price tag of $15, that’s pretty good. Well, it’s very, very good.

Yes, you could only snag one per order, but experienced resellers with multiple accounts could load up on several CDs before they sold out. Each one they bought was an opportunity to multiply their money ten times in under a day. Again, pretty good.
