American cosmetics brand ColourPop released a collection based on the Twilight series
Prices ranged from $10 to $99
Resellers begun flipping items for double that within a few hours
You like Twilight right? Or makeup, at the very least. This morning, the cosmetics brand ColourPop sold a new collection of Twilight-inspired products. The reaction on social media has been extremely positive, and everything sold out fast. Within a few hours, many items have already begun to resell. Keep an eye for restocks, because this collection is very popular.
Let’s get into it. Twilight has been getting a bit of a rehab lately, along with most of the high-budget slop from the 2000s. Hopefully we don’t need to a deep recap. It was a book series, turned into a film series. Popular with teenagers, women, and teenage women.
In the decade and change since the series released, there have been a lot of merchandising opportunities. Today we’re looking at a new one.
The LA-based cosmetics company ColourPop rolled out a new collection of cosmetics themed around the Twilight series. The full collection costs $99, and includes fifteen different eyeshadows, two highlighters, three eyeliners, three lip oils, and a dry oil that evokes the glittering skin of vampires in the sun.
This is probably a very exciting collection for certain people. ColourPop has been teasing the collection on social media over the last few days, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
The Twilight ColourPop collection dropped at 10 A.M. on January 11. You can buy either the entire collection for $99 or individual pieces from $10 to $24. As far as cosmetics go, these are pretty good prices.
In fact, the collection was so popular that everything sold out. From the full sets to individual oils, everything vanished in a few minutes. The full collections were the first to go, with the eyeshadows and lip oils selling out next.
And when you have products selling out in a flash, typically you’ll see them resell. That’s exactly what’s happening here. Within hours of selling out, everything from the collection has started to flip on eBay and Mercari.
The full Twilight ColourPop collection is reselling for upwards of $250 at a time, while individual eyeshadow kits are reselling for around $60. The various eyeliners and oils are not proving as popular.
For resellers, this collection was an opportunity to double their money in a few hours. We recommend signing up for in-stock alerts on ColourPop’s website. Considering how heavily they hyped this collection and how strong the interest, we think the chances of a restock are pretty high, and soon.
