Got your Halloween costume ready? There’s only a few weeks left until everyone’s favorite holiday is here. Whether you go full out with the fake blood or you prefer a more subtle look, you can always inject a little spooky fun into your wardrobe. Earlier this week, Coach sold a limited number of Halloween-themed handbags, designed to look like a haunted house. These ended up being a big hit, and now these bags are reselling for well over retail.

October is always a great month for resellers. People are willing to throw tons of money around at this time of year. If they’re not splurging on spooky decorations, then they’re spending on tickets to special events or paying out the nose for the perfect costume.

There are all kinds of ways for a company to cash in on the season. Today, we’re looking at a specific handbag sold by Coach, the Haunted House Halloween handbag (say that five times fast).

As far as bags go they’re nothing crazy. Crossgrain black leather, a detachable strap for shoulder carry or crossbody wear, and solid construction.

The design is what stands out. It’s meant to look like a haunted house, even including a ghost popping out of one of the windows. Coach is a big name in handbags, and people are always looking to buy something new. What better way to capture interest than with a seasonal theme?

Coach Haunted House bags retailed for $189 directly through Coach’s website. They’ve been going in and out of stock through October, with the last restock taking place on October 10.

When they are available for sale, they don’t last long. These bags are extremely popular, and every restock tends to sell out in a few minutes. As you might have guessed, many of them were picked up by resellers.

Now that Halloween is right around the corner, prices for everything orange and black are skyrocketing. These bags are no exception, and were on resellers’ radars from the beginning.

Right now, Coach Haunted House Halloween bags are reselling for upwards of $400 at a time. As the season ticks along, we can expect to see more sales for these, maybe even at higher prices. No one wants to be the loser at a party without a haunted house bag, right?

For the resellers that picked these up, they’re looking at $200 in profit off of a single flip. It’s a lot of work sure, you would have had to buy these bags from Coach and then… list them on eBay ten minutes later. Huh. Maybe it’s not that much work after all.
