Barnes and Noble is selling signed copies of Charlie Sheen’s book
They are $35 and expected to ship in September
Other signed books from celebrity authors have flipped for hundreds
Guess whose sober and needs a little money? Charlie Sheen is all set for the release of his first book, a memoir of his life on and off the screen titled “The Book of Sheen”. As with many other book releases from major celebrities, Sheen is producing a limited number of autographed copies for dedicated fans. These are available for preorder right now while supplies last, and we’ve seen other signed books resell for hundreds of dollars in the recent past.
It’s been a few years since Charlie Sheen (born Carlos Estevez) has been in the limelight. As the star of CBS’ “Two and a Half Men”, Sheen was one of the highest-paid stars in TV history, raking in nearly $2 million per episode by his eighth season.
And it seemed like the majority of that money went up his nose or out his pants. Sheen’s extremely well-documented spinout into drug addiction, sexual exploitation, and general mischief took up a lot of the last decade.
Now he’s sober (for real this time), and he wants to tell you all about it. “The Book of Sheen” is Charlie Sheen’s first book; a memoir of his time in Hollywood from a man that’s seen just how high and low that life can be. “The Book of Sheen” is available for preorder now and is set for release in September.
Sheen has prepared something special for his biggest fans and autograph hunters. Signed copies of “The Book of Sheen” are available right now through Barnes and Noble for just $35, the same price as the standard hardcover.
As a signed book, these editions are obviously limited. We don’t know how many books will be signed or sold, and it’s likely they will sell out well before the book releases later this year.
Good question? These have been in stock for a few days and haven’t sold out yet, which could mean a few things. The most obvious would be that there’s not a ton of interest in Sheen’s signature, or that Barnes and Noble is accepting an excessive number of orders (i.e. they’re autopenning the signatures).
It could also be that these books have flown under the radar for celebrity autograph hunters. If you didn’t know, there’s actually a considerable market for signed books.
The bigger the author’s name, the bigger the sales. We’ve seen signed books from stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Barbra Streisand, and Kirk Hammett resell for well above their sticker prices.
This is just the latest chance to pick up a star’s signature for a very reasonable price. While Sheen might not be as big of a name as he was back in the early 2010s, there’s still reason to believe his signature might be worth more than Barnes and Noble is charging.
There’s a lot of Sheen-signed merch available for sale on eBay right now, from baseballs to glasses to photos; even Funko Pops. Many of these items resell for $50 to $150, with some more premium examples flipping for over $300.
Without a crystal ball we can’t say for sure whether these will resell, but there’s plenty of evidence to point that way. We always recommend doing your research before making a purchase, and remember that these are final sale items; don’t expect any refunds if they fail to resell.
Modest risk, modest reward. We’ll leave it up to you. For now though, make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter for the latest updates on everything that resells. From video game merch to collectable mustard, we’ve got everything you need to make a profit.
