Cat food doesn’t usually make our radar, but Fancy Feast just wandered into fashion territory. The Purina brand teamed up with Paige DeSorbo and designer Susan Alexandra on a tiny cat-shaped purse worth more than a year’s supply of wet food. You can’t buy one. The only way in is a free sweepstakes, and the run is small enough that every winner will be holding one of the scarcest food brand accessories we’ve seen this year. Fast food already proved there’s an audience for this stuff, so it’s worth two minutes of your time.

Fancy Feast Little Gem Micro Bag Details

The Little Gem Micro Bag is a white beaded handbag shaped like the Fancy Feast cat, finished with a pink ribbon bow. Susan Alexandra handled the design and DeSorbo is the face of the campaign, which also includes a Fancy Feast bundle she picked out for her cat Daphne.

Purina’s official rules put the combined value of all 25 prizes at $12,500. That’s a lot for a promo item, and it suggests this is closer to a real Susan Alexandra piece than a throwaway trinket.

Weird crossovers have become a reliable little lane for resellers. Burger King’s Le Nugguette had a 500 unit run, and Panera’s BAGuette and Walmart’s Rotisserie Chicken Purse both found buyers too. Fancy Feast is giving away 25.

How to Enter

You get one entry through Purina’s sweepstakes page and one through the Rewards Catalog in the myPurina app. It’s open to legal residents of the 50 states and DC who are 18 or older (19 in Alabama and Nebraska), limited to one prize per household. Winners are drawn on or about November 23 and notified by email, with 72 hours to respond before the bag goes to an alternate. Check your spam folder.

There are no sales to point to yet, and Purina says to allow 8 to 10 weeks for shipping, so winners likely won’t have bags until January. With a designer and a celebrity attached to a 25 unit run, we’d expect this to clear Le Nugguette’s numbers, but that’s a guess. For reference, a $250 sale would net about $216 after eBay’s 13.6% fee, all from a free entry.

The main risk is taxes. Winners are responsible for any taxes on the prize, which can’t be redeemed for cash. Entering also signs you up for Purina marketing emails.

Odds won’t be great with only 25 bags, but there’s no money on the line. Enter both ways before November 18.
