We’ve got something a little unusual today — well, actually a lot unusual. As part of their 50th anniversary, Microsoft unveiled a limited edition pair of Windows XP-themed Crocs. These have gone viral online with many XP-heads hoping for a chance to buy them. But there’s a catch: these Crocs can only be purchased by Microsoft employees. Let’s take a closer look at these shoes and see what the future might hold for them.

Rare Windows XP Crocs Revealed

When we think about rare footwear, Crocs are pretty far down the list. We usually talk about Jordans, Yeezys, even Trump’s line of sneakers. But there’s always room for the weirder stuff.

If you didn’t know, 2025 marked Microsoft’s 50th anniversary. The company has been holding multiple internal and external celebrations in the last few weeks, and one of their recently-revealed products has caught our eye.

However, it seems like that will be changing soon. Microsoft recently confirmed that while these are employee-exclusive at the moment, they are planning to sell the shoes to the public soon.

These shoes have been a massive hit online, and it’s unclear if Microsoft is just responding to the viral attention or if a public sale was the goal all along.

In any case, we’re excited to get our hands on a pair.

Will Microsoft's Windows XP Crocs Resell?

Style aside, we’re interested in these shoes for another reason. They might not look like an obvious example of profitable sneakers, but don’t count them out just yet.

We’ve seen novelty footwear resell before. In 2023, UGG linked with The Elder Statesman for a limited collection that flipped for hundreds of dollars over retail, and we tracked a 2024 Crocs X Shrek crossover resell for up to double the listed MSRP.

It seems like Microsoft’s upcoming Windows XP Crocs will be fairly limited, and it might be some time before the public release is available for sale. We’re very curious to see if a market for these will emerge on eBay once Microsoft employees start buying them.

As of this publication, there are no open or sold eBay listings for Microsoft Windows XP Crocs. They’re available for preorder right now to Microsoft employees, and it seems like they haven’t sold out yet.
