Lego is selling sets based on the Fortnite Battle Bus
They are $100 and include 9 minifigs
They’re reselling for around $150 now, but were close to $300 after release
It’s time to suit up, drop down, and make some money. Lego’s extensive collaboration with Fortnite got a little bigger last month with the release of the Lego Battle Bus set 77073. With a host of Fortnite minifigs and exclusive in-game content, this is a must-have for any diehard Fortnite gamer. Resellers made a killing on them, with some sets flipping for over $300 after their release. Things have cooled down a bit since, but they’re still plenty profitable – and they restock frequently.
If you haven’t hopped on Fortnite in a while, you might’ve missed Epic Games’ epic collaboration with Lego. The brands teamed up in 2023 to bring an all new experience to the game, and their partnership spilled over into the real world with tons of new Fortnite-themed Lego sets.
And that includes the one we’re looking at today. Lego set 77073 is a recreation of the iconic Fortnite Battle Bus. All the details you’d expect are here, from the propeller-ballon propulsion system to Jonesy behind the wheel.
The Lego Battle Bus set clocks in at 954 pieces, and measures over a foot in length and height once assembled.
Additionally, nine different Fortnite minifigures are included with the set. If have any experience reselling Legos, you should know that minifigs can make or break a set. Collectors hunt for the rarest ones, and new releases are always in demand.
The Fortnite Lego Battle Bus set retails for $99, and is available from Lego’s site, stores, or major retailers like Walmart and Target. The set was extremely popular after its release and sold out fast, but Lego has been consistently restocking it over the last few weeks.
If you’ve been looking for a new flip to get in on, here’s your sign. Since the Lego Battle Bus released in December, we’ve seen a ton of third party sales.
Early on, these Lego sets were reselling for as much as $300. Lego couldn’t keep up with demand at launch, and it made for an extremely lucrative flip. Prices have since fallen to around $150, and this week’s restock has slowed things down again.
Still, $50 over retail is $50 in profit, depending on how you sell. This is an ideal local flip; skip the shipping and platform fees, and try to hawk it to a parent looking for a late Christmas present.
Keep an eye on the market too. As we said, prices are down a bit as Lego catches up to demand. This is a popular set, and Lego can and will spin up their production to keep pace. It’s possible sales for them will entirely dry up if they continue to restock.
In any case, subscribe to our newsletter to learn more about reselling and catch the latest flips. We cover all kinds of profitable items, but you won’t hear about any of them if you’re not subscribed.
Oh, and speaking of Fortnite, make sure you check out our article on the Fortnite lawsuit. The FTC will only be accepting claims until January 10, so this is your last chance to put your name in for a refund. We’ve seen gamers cash checks for $1,000 or more, so don’t skip this one.
