Why is the XIM Matrix Reselling?

What is the XIM Matrix?

This has a range of practical applications. It’s especially useful for people emulating games designed around motion controls. The XIM Matrix would allow a mouse or controller user to simulate inputs they otherwise couldn’t make. Conversely, one could also use a motion controller in games not designed for it, using the XIM Matrix to turn motion inputs into mouse sweeps.

It’s also really popular with sweaty-ass gamers who want an advantage. Using a XIM Matrix on a console game allows the user to disguise their mouse and keyboard inputs as though they’re playing on a controller. Most modern first person shooters consider controllers to be at a disadvantage, so the XIM Matrix effectively allows the user to skirt the rules around mouse and keyboard use. The device can also be used to perform macros and dampen recoil, which are significant advantages in competitive play

The Matrix is not the first device XIM has produced for this purpose. Previous offerings like the Apex and R series peripherals allowed users to translate inputs through and for a variety of format, and the company has built a reputation for quality and efficacy. The XIM Matrix is just the latest in a long line of products.

The Matrix was first sold on May 6, 2023. Since then it has restocked sporadically with little warning. The most recent XIM Matrix restock was on June 7. These restocks typically sell out extremely fast.

XIM Matrix resellers are profiting

Following the initial release in May and a string of restocks through June, resellers have taken stock of the XIM Matrix and begun flipping them for profit.

The average price of the XIM Matrix from a reseller is currently around $200. This comes out to around $75 or so in profit, which is great for a single item. That said, prices were even higher closer to launch. Immediately after the first sale in May, XIM Matrixes were reselling for more than $500.

Every time the Matrix restocks, it tends to drive the aftermarket down a bit, which isn’t terribly surprising. As more of these make their way into the world, competition lessens and the amount earmarked for aftermarket sales increases. Even at $200, these are still a great opportunity for anyone.

Experienced resellers knew to jump on this. XIM products have a long history of reselling, and it was clear the Matrix would be no different. The fact that it retails for over $100 already, combined with the fact that its essentially a novelty product make it perfect for reselling. These are the kinds of items you want target; silly stuff, designed for people with money to spend, and produced in limited numbers.

There will be more restocks of the XIM Matrix, and we believe it will continue to resell. There have been nearly 350 sales through eBay since May for these, so it’s clear that demand is strong. Even if prices continue to decline, reselling a XIM Matrix would still represent a profit of at least $50, so there’s no reason not to get in on the action.
