Key Points

  • Additional signed CDs and vinyl will be sold through a TalkShopLive stream

  • CDs are $14 and vinyl is $40

  • This comes shortly after resellers turned major profits on signed Megadeth vinyl

The legendary thrash group Megadeth is set to hang their spurs. After seventeen albums and numerous sold-out tours, the only thing left to do is cut the fattest check possible for their retirement. To that end, the band will be releasing a limited number of signed CDs and vinyl for their final, self-titled album. Let’s take a look.

Megadeth Announces Signed "Megadeth" Release

To be fair, 33 years is a long-ass time for any band, let alone one fronted by someone as volatile as Dave Mustaine. Since 1983, Megadeth has been one of the loudest voices in metal and foundational influence on thrash. To make it to 2026 is a feat.

To celebrate that milestone, Megadeth is dropping one last self-titled album (and milking fans for every last penny). After dropping limited signed vinyl variants earlier this month, the group has announced an additional run of signed CDs and vinyl in December.

Megadeth (the album) is slated for release next year. The band will be teaming with the live shopping platform TalkShopLive to sell albums ahead of its release, with signed vinyl selling for $40 and signed CDs for just $14. Customers are limited to four items per purchase.

Of course, there have been more than a few lineup changes along the way. Mustaine is the single original member of the band, and he’s been known to have a hair trigger when it comes to firing bandmates.

Today’s Megadeth is Mustaine on rhythm and lead vocals, James LoMenzo on bass, and Dirk Verbeuren on drums. Fan favorite lead guitarist Kiko Loureiro left the band in 2023 and was replaced by Teemu Mäntysaari shortly after.

The entire band’s autographs will be featured on signed inserts for both the CD and vinyl variants of “Megadeth”. It’s unclear if this will be the final signed release for the album, but this is definitely worth putting on your calendar.

Megadeth Signed Albums Resell

To put it simply, signatures sell. We mentioned it earlier, but Megadeth has already dropped signed versions of this album, and we’ve seen them fly for solid profits.

Right now, signed vinyl variants of Megadeth’s final album have flipped for up to three times their retail value, netting resellers more than $100 in profit per record sold.

The key detail here is the quantity limit. The band allows customers to stock up on four CDs or vinyl per transaction, so resellers can really run the numbers up when the livestream starts. This isn’t something you should sit out.

Our take? Be ready when Megadeth’s TalkShopLive stream starts on December 4. Tune in early, and focus on buying CDs. Both CDs and vinyl include a signed insert, but the CDs are significantly cheaper. This means resellers and quickly and easily load up on signatures from major superstars, and flip them next day for big profits.
