Kith's BMW Collab is a Massive Win for Resellers

Well, we told you so. If you’re a regular reader, you might remember our article on Kith’s upcoming collection with BMW. We were urging anyone in the Miami area to make their way to this pop-up, and those that did are reaping their rewards right now.

Here’s the TL;DR. Kith and BMW have had an ongoing partnership for years now. Every so often, a new batch of clothes and exclusive merch will drop, sell out, and become highly collectable. Alongside the usual, a new Kith-branded BMW will debut at the same time.

The latest collaboration launched this month, and this time the theme was “Techno Violet”. Kith and BMW worked together to restore and soup up a 1981 E26 M1, one of the most collectable cars ever built.

So there was a bit of hype going into the collection. Aside from the car, we also covered some of Kith’s latest designs. All kinds of new jackets were available, alongside graphic tees, athletic gear, and knitwear.

And if clothes aren’t your thing, what about a keychain, bag, hat, or diecast replica of the Kith M1? The point is, there was a lot of stuff in this drop. Most of it retailed for upwards of $100 at a time, with many of the premium jackets starting above $500.

That’s a major boon for resellers. If your buyers are already expecting to drop a hundreds of dollars at retail, what’s a few hundred more?

Speaking of which, let’s get to the fun part. We predicted this drop would be a major cook, and things certainly seem to be trending that way. Not everything has sold out yet, but some of the most popular items are already flipping for a premium.

Graphic tees are making up the majority of listed items on eBay. These are usually reselling for around $140, about double what Kith charged for them.

Quarter zips and jackets are also quite popular, many of which are reselling for about $100 over their retail prices. Certain hats and rondel keychains are pretty lucrative, and we’ve also seen a surprising number of license plate holders flip for a profit.

Additionally, the diecast BMW replicas are shaping up as one of the biggest flips. These retailed for $145, and we’ve seen a few go for over $300.

Overall, an excellent opportunity for any reseller. The collection went live online during the week, but attending the pop-up in Miami gave local resellers a massive edge on acquiring hot products before they sold out
