Key Points

  • You can get a free Labuzzy plush for a limited time

  • BuzzBallz will ship you one after buying ten BuzzBallz (~$30) or two Biggies (~$24)

  • The promotion ends September 5 and supplies are limited

In today’s edition of “viral consumerist trends taken to their logical conclusion”, BuzzBallz has announced they’ll be giving away a limited number of “LaBuzzy” plush keychains with qualifying purchases of their alcohol. With how much money we’re seeing spent on Labubus in the last few months, resellers are eyeing this drop. Let’s take a look.

BuzzBallz Labubu Labuzzy Promotion

It’s looking like a busy, buzzy summer for BuzzBallz. The company has stepped up their marketing in the last few months, most notably with a limited edition “$3,000” BuzzBallz pool they sold for just $20 (it was closer to a $100 value).

And their latest attempt to go viral is a little more topical. Earlier this week, BuzzBallz revealed their latest promo: the LaBuzzy. As you can probably guess, this a low-effort spoof of the wildly viral Labubu plush that you’ve probably come across by now.

Per BuzzBallz’ website, you’ll need to purchase 10 BuzzBallz or two BuzzBallz biggies to receive the plush. You can then upload an image of your receipt along with shipping info on their website, and you’ll receive your LaBuzzy plush in the mail and show the world your poor taste in alcohol and collectibles.

If you’re interested, you might want to act fast. BuzzBallz has warned that the LaBuzzy is a limited edition product, and they will only be shipping them “while supplies last”. Additionally, your purchase(s) must have been made between August 8 and September 5 to qualify.

Will BuzzBallz Labubu LaBuzzy Resell?

Good question. Obviously, we’re not encouraging anyone to consume alcohol, and we’re especially not encouraging anyone to drink BuzzBallz’ syrupy dogshit artificially flavored malt beverages, but there’s definitely an opportunity here.

And the opportunity is that people like spending their money on silly things, doubly so if those silly things are made in limited numbers and referencing other silly things.

If these BuzzBallz Labubus end up reselling for even a fraction of what the genuine article goes for on eBay, we might have a profitable flip on our hands. It’s hard to draw a direct comparison, but consider that thousands of Labubus are reselling every day for two to three times what they retail for.

Labubu for Sale BuzzBallz Labuzzy

But before we get too ahead of ourselves, let’s do a little math. BuzzBallz are sold in gas stations, grocers, and liquor stores across the country for around $3, while BuzzBallz Biggies usually go for around $12. Buying two Biggies for ~$24 is the most economical way to qualify for the promotion.

Once you’re done pouring them down the drain, you can send the receipt to BuzzBallz and receive your very own LaBuzzy. Alternatively, you can fish in the trash can outside 7/11 for qualifying receipts. We’ll leave it up to you.

$24 isn’t a lot of money, but it’s not nothing. Would you pay that much for a raggedy Labubu knockoff? And how much would someone else buy it off you for?

Realistically speaking, probably not that much. This is definitely not something worth throwing your life savings into, but it’s entirely possible we’ll see BuzzBallz aficionados paying out the nose for these plushes after the promotional window ends. Probably not. But maybe.
