Peonies from Michael’s are our Favorite Flowers

Michael’s has become a favorite among home decor enthusiasts. Aside from arts and crafts, their selection of seasonal household items have grown in popularity to compete with titans like Home Goods for the hard earned cash of bored housewives.

Earlier this year, 2 distinct colors of Peony Stems by Ashland were released and quickly went viral on TikTok. There is a wide selection of artificial flowers by Ashland available for purchase on Michael’s website, but the Tan Peony Stem and Cream Peony Stem are the ones that keep selling out, and housewives are not happy.

This is certainly not a typical product category for resellers, but profit is profit, and that’s all we care about.

These artificial flowers retail for just $7. They’re made of polyester, plastic, and iron wire but look surprisingly realistic. While the tan peonies seem to be selling better than the cream, both show strong margins and should be on the radar.

Sure, we usually cover more traditional flips like signed vinyl, rare trading cards, and collectable toys, there’s always room in our portfolio for eclectic flips.

Right now, Ashland Peony Stems from Michaels are reselling for $10-12 each in bundles of 6-8. This nets you around $5 in profit for each stem sold, meaning resellers are making $30 to $40 at a time by flipping these fake flowers.

If you plan on hunting these in the wild, don’t just walk in looking like a hypebeast and start asking about these flowers. Maybe your mom or girlfriend has been dying to get these but they’ve been out of stock for months, and you were hoping to get them as a gift for Mother’s Day (which is on May 11th by the way.)
