Arby's DnD Dice Set

The Arby's DnD Dice Set was created after a several Arby's posts teasing this product went viral. It contains 7 transparent dice that feature gold lettering, along with a tiny Arby's logo. There was a huge demand for this set to be released, and two years after their first appearance, the dice hit the Arby's webstore.

Have you seen any Arby’s tweets popping up on your Twitter timeline lately? The company has had a bit of a renaissance with its gaming and nerd culture tweets, posting dioramas of anime and video game characters crafted from ketchup and curly fries. Whether it was a calculated marketing ploy or one bored intern’s stroke of genius, the move paid off.

Arby’s engagement on these posts has been remarkable, and they have continued to double down on the semi-rebrand by releasing gaming-related merch. In August of 2021, they revealed their own set of dice, usable in tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons. The dice sold out in under an hour and sporadically resold for prices way over retail.

What are the Arby's Dice?

Well, it is simple. They’re a set of seven dice, appropriate for use in most tabletop games, including Dungeons and Dragons. Each die is made from clear plastic, with gold lettering imprinted on the sides. The dice, including the Arby’s D20, have a miniature ten-gallon hat embedded in the plastic.

Arby’s first teased the dice in 2019 with a Facebook post showing them off. What was probably a one-off joke got surprising attention from numerous commenters asking for a purchase link. The Arby’s DnD dice would show up again a year later on both Facebook and Twitter, this time showing off the iconic Arby’s D20.

Their tweet accumulated almost a thousand retweets, over 10,000 likes, and a new surge of people asking how they could buy a set.

Arby’s took these requests seriously because, on August 25th, 2021, they announced a production run of the dice. The Arby’s DnD dice went up for sale through Arby’s webstore for $12 and sold out in under an hour.

Despite the low production, Arby’s only restricted orders to a maximum of ten, allowing the most dedicated fans to stockpile multiple Arby’s D20s at once.

Did the Arby's Dice resell?

The rapid sellout would bode well for the reselling price of Arby’s DnD dice. But unfortunately, listings on online marketplaces like eBay took some time to start up, with only a few posted in the week of the sale.

Since then, we have seen a gradual increase in both Arby’s D20s for sale and the price they sell for. In the following months, the asking price usually hovered around $50-$100, but sales eventually ticked up to the $300 mark.

Arbys Dice For Sale eBay

The last sale was recorded in September 2022, and went for $500. It is clear that Arby’s limited production of these dice, and many of them likely went to dedicated fans instead of resellers.

For a few weeks after the release, Twitter was full of disappointed fans begging Arby’s for their own set of dice. That activity has cooled off since, but a few dedicated collectors are still willing to pay resale prices for an authentic Arby’s D20.

What do you think? Good investment or a little too cheesy? While the resale price is reasonable, it took nearly a year to reach this point, and buyers seem few and far between. Keep your eyes out for other niche products from established brands like these. Often, the novelty of the product can propel it to resell well.

Update 4/17/2023

The Arby’s Dice have restocked. With no prior announcement, the dice suddenly reappeared in the Arby’s webstore at 11 A.M. Pacific. Stock sold out within the hour.

There will be a second restock of the Arby’s Dice on Friday, 4/21 at 8 A.M. Pacific. It’s not clear if the secondary market for these will hold up like the initial release, but the fast sell out bodes well for resellers.
