Key Points

  • Most Third Gen Fire Sticks were marked down to $10 at Home Depot

  • The discount is only available in stores, and not all locations participated

  • Resellers flipped the sticks at or below their $30 MSRP

Resellers had the opportunity to score easy profits earlier this week by taking advantage of a sale. 3rd Generation Amazon TV Fire Sticks were marked down at Home Depot locations across the country, and those who acted fast enough were able to snag up entire cartloads of the discounted product. By flipping them online for near or below their MSRP, the resulting profits could total up to hundreds of dollars at a time. Let’s take a look.

Amazon Fire Stick Sale at Home Depot

So, how do you watch your TV? Pirated HBO rips with burned-in Kazakh subtitles? TikTok compilations with Subway Surfers playing on the side? According to Statista, the number of customers paying for traditional cable service has continued to decline over the last decade.

And one easy option is the Amazon Fire Stick. After debuting in 2014, the streaming device has been updated and iterated on several times. For $46 you can turn any TV into an Internet-connected media player.

Last week, Home Depot marked down almost all of their Third Gen Amazon Fire Sticks for in-store purchase to $10. These were originally released in 2021 and have an MSRP of $30, but still support 4K streaming and voice integration with Alexa.

For most, this might not seem like a big deal. $20 off on an outdated streaming device isn’t tremendously exciting, and Home Depot was probably just looking to clear shelf space for Amazon’s latest Fire Sticks.

But for resellers, this looked like an excellent opportunity. These might be a little old, but that doesn’t mean people have stopped buying them.

Amazon Fire Sticks Resell

As soon as this sale kicked off, resellers across the country began scouring their local Home Depots and filling their carts with Fire Sticks. It doesn’t take a lot to have a good flip; just the right product, the right timing, and the right price.

Right now, Third Gen Amazon Fire Sticks are reselling for $25 to $35 at a time, close to or just under their MSRP before the sale. For buyers, it’s their chance to pick up a Fire stick at a decent price. For resellers, profit.

2021 Amazon Fire Stick for Sale

Each Fire Stick sold represents up to $20 in profit. At $10 from Home Depot, this sale was an opportunity to triple every dollar invested. Clearing the shelves of Fire Sticks suddenly becomes a very lucrative notion.

Of course, the only way to take advantage of this flip was to know about it. RC Elite members were tipped off to the opportunity, as well as provided a comprehensive list of Home Depot locations participating in the sale and their stock numbers. The only thing members had to do was drive around for a few hours.
