Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Console Preorders Might Open Soon

Nintendo officially confirmed the Ocarina of Time remake back in June with a teaser that showed almost nothing beyond a redesigned young Link and a 2026 release window.

The console side of the story had been leaked packaging photos and rumor until this week, when Cdiscount’s own promo terms document listed five distinct SKUs: the Switch 2 console in an Ocarina of Time edition, a matching Pro Controller, a paired set of Joy-Cons, the standalone game, and a Collector’s Edition that hadn’t leaked or been hinted at before now. No prices were attached to any of them.

This lines up with last month’s packaging leak, which showed a black and gold console and dock with a triforce pattern, plus green Joy-Cons carrying the Hylian Crest. Seeing the same items surface in an actual retailer’s backend, rather than just a leaker’s photos, is a meaningfully stronger signal that this is close to real and close to launching.

Nintendo raised the standard Switch 2 from $450 to $500 on September 1, so a bundled limited edition could land north of $600. We have no information on Ocarina of Time Collector’s Editions or their pricing. The most recent Legend of Zela Collector’s Editions retailed for around $130 and included a small statuette with some other goodies.

Insiders are split between a November launch, which would put Ocarina of Time in direct competition with GTA 6’s November 19 release, and a December date that would give Nintendo the holidays to itself. Preorders for limited edition consoles typically open three to four months ahead of launch, which lines up with a Direct happening right now.

When the standard Switch 2 launched, Nintendo gated preorders behind account age, a year of Nintendo Online membership, and logged playtime on the original Switch. Nintendo hasn’t confirmed it will use the same system here, but if it does, accounts created after the console’s official reveal could get shut out of the early window. If you have friends or family with Nintendo Online subscriptions, coordinating with them now before the console’s reveal is smart.

We don’t have a confirmed refund policy for any of these items since nothing has officially launched, so treat that as an open question rather than an assumption. If preorders go live during the Direct, be ready to move. Items like this tend to sell out fast and start reselling on eBay well before they ever ship.

Take the information from CDiscount’s leak with a few grains of salt. The retailer also has GTA 6 Switch 2 SKUs listed, something that Rockstar has not confirmed and is seemingly out of reach for technical reasons. Their internal SKUs may just be placeholders for now.
