Key Points

  • New Monster High dolls based on the show “Wednesday” release later this month

  • They’ve begun appearing in stores early for $40

  • Resellers are flipping these early dolls for up to $100

We’ve got a lowkey in-store flip for you today. Monster High is getting ready to launch two new dolls based on Netflix’s “Wednesday” series. These are the “Wednesday” and “Enid” dolls, patterned after their respective characters. Collectors have taken a strong liking to the two, and we’ve started to see them show up in stores ahead of their planned release date. As you might expect, these dolls are now reselling for a very handsome premium. Here are the details.

Monster High X Wednesday Collection

Another day, another Monster High flip. If you’re a reseller that hasn’t gone after at least one of these dolls, you’re leaving easy money on the table.

Need a quick refresher? Check out some of our past articles on products like the Monster High Elvira doll or the Monster High Annabelle Skullector Series. Monster High has a huge base of collectors, and most of them have no problem forking over cash to resellers if it gets them the dolls they crave.

On August 19, two new Monster High dolls will be released as part of a crossover with Netflix’s “Wednesday”. Based on the characters played by Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers, these dolls are the ultimate dichotomy of goth and prep.

Most Monster High dolls we cover are from Mattel’s “Skullector” series; high quality, collector-grade dolls with high price points and limited availability. The two we’re looking at today are not Skullectors though, but Monster High fans are still very excited for them.

And the best part is that these dolls are also appearing in stores ahead of their planned release date. It’s still so early that we don’t listings for them, and there’s no real way to tell if a store has them other than walking in and checking the shelves yourself.

The more anticipated of the two is the actual Wednesday doll. These resemble Jenna Ortega’s pouty, brooding, and heavily eyeshadowed character from the series. Black blazer, black boots, black hair.

The Monster High Wednesday dolls are about $40. They’re expected to launch online later this month, but we’ve seen scattered reports that they’ve begun appearing at Walmart stores across the country, usually without proper tags.

Whether its rogue employees trying to give a leg up to diehard fans, or someone just not really paying attention while stocking shelves, it doesn’t really matter. Getting any product ahead of its release date is a great opportunity, especially when collectors are this hyped.

And on the other end of the spectrum is this Enid doll, based on Emma Myers portrayal of the character. Whereas Wednesday is black on black, Enid is resplendent with pink, yellow and blue.

Like Wednesday, Monster High Enid dolls are retailing for around $40 in stores right now. If you don’t have any luck at Walmart, it seems like some surviving Toys “R” Us locations and Targets may be carrying them as well.

If you get lucky and manage to find either of these dolls in stock, we recommend you buy as many as you can, as fast as you can. Collectors and other resellers are actively hunting for them, and they won’t sit on shelves for long.

The good news is that they’re profitable. Right now, Monster High Wednesday and Enid dolls are reselling for up to $100 at a time. Of the two, the Wednesday dolls are much more popular, but some resellers have had success selling the dolls as a pair.

There’s a lot of luck involved here, but also the potential to make hundreds of dollars in profit from a single trip to the store. If that’s not your thing, fair enough; but we think this is definitely worth the effort.
