A new Amazon listing for Sora Amiibos went up last week
Although preorders are not open, resellers have been making listings for the figures on eBay
These listings are selling for $15 to $40 over retail
Another day, another win for resellers. Last week, new Nintendo Amiibos based on Sora’s appearance in Smash Ultimate started showing up on Amazon. Even though the listings aren’t live, it’s a clear sign that the figures about to become available for preorder. Resellers quickly began making presa le listings for the Amiibos to make a buck. Now many of these listings have sold, and the resellers have secured a quick profit; provided they’re able to secure the Amiibos too.
Of all the meme characters announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Sora was one of the biggest. People had been theorycrafting about the character’s inclusion in the series since brawl, and their dreams would finally come true in October of 2021.
Two years later, an Amiibo is in the works for Sora. Much like his Smash debut, people have been waiting for this one too.
Nintendo confirmed a Sora Amiibo during the September Direct, but has been pretty quiet since then. With his introduction, all of the Smash Ultimate fighters will have received an Amiibo.
For collectors and people who really like Kingdom Hearts, this is a huge dub. Nintendo has the Sora Amiibo slated for a February 2024 release, but what’s a little more time when you’ve been waiting for years?
As of now, preorders for the Sora Amiibos have not opened, but that may change soon. On December 8, a new Amazon listing for the Amiibos appeared. This generally only happens when a product is about to go live.
Now Sora Amiibos are back in the spotlight. These are looking to be one of the most popular Amiibo releases to date, and people are anticipating strong demand.
Amiibos for popular characters have sold out in the past, so it makes to be ready. Preorders could go open at any time, and you’ll need to be quick to score one.
But there’s another option. With all the hype around these figures, resellers have started making presale listings for preorders. For folks with jobs or just slow fingers, this a way to beat the lines and get the Amiibos they want without the stress.
Of course, that also means paying a premium. Many resellers have set their listings between $30 and $60, and plenty of these have since sold.
Considering the Sora Amiibos are listed at a retail price of $15, this an opportunity for resellers to potentially double, triple, or even quadruple their money.
Making presale listings is completely within eBay’s acceptable use policy, and if you don’t secure the Amiibo, you just refund the buyer. This should be a pretty easy flip for anyone to get in on, especially if you’re able to get an early heads-up when the stock goes live.
