Barbie AMC Exclusive Roller Skate Crossbody Loungefly Bag

Released exclusively via AMC’s merch website to promote the 2023’s Barbie: The Movie, this Loungefly bag depicts a pink Barbie roller skate embroidered with a “B” on the side. It is a limited edition of 1,000.

Are you headed to the theater today? It seems like the whole country has a ticket to either Barbie, Oppenheimer, or they’re headed to a double feature. Whether you’ll be lining up later today or not, we’ve got a bit of merchandise that’s making a stir already. AMC and Loungefly have crafted a special, Barbie-themed handbag. While the design is certainly eye-catching, we think the prices they’re selling for are even more impressive.

Of course, this isn’t the first piece of Barbie merchandise that’s been released, and likely won’t be the last. We’ve already covered both the AMC Barbie popcorn buckets and NYX Barbie Flip Mirrors, and one thing we’ve seen is that people are absolutely eating up anything pink, plastic, and fantastic.

The Barbie Roller Skate Handbag is produced by Loungefly, sold exclusively through AMC, and officially licensed by the Barbie Movie. It’s pink (duh), and made out of vegan leather, AKA polyurethane (plastic), and designed to resemble a roller skate.

The interiors of the bags feature a repeating card-shaped pattern of themes from the Barbie universe, and for an added fun factor, the wheels on the bag actually roll. All together, AMC and Loungefly have put together an exceptionally fun handbag. It’s perfect for a fan of the movie, Barbie, or quirky handbags.

AMC Barbie Handbag Release Details

Unfortunately, it’s no longer possible to buy one these at retail. The AMC Loungefly Barbie Roller Skate bags were first sold on July 18 directly on AMC’s webstore. They cost $65, and customers were limited to two per order.

AMC had a queue system in place to try and manage the traffic, but that wasn’t enough to stop the tidal wave that was about to hit it. It took around 15 minutes for all of the bags to sell out, although it seems like only 1,000 were made available for sale.

It’s not clear whether the AMC Loungefly Barbie Handbags will restock. AMC tends not to produce exclusive merch like this multiple times, but the massive stir around Barbie and these bags may see an exception to that rule. If they do restock, don’t hesitate to buy, as these bags are still quite valuable.

AMC Loungefly Barbie Bags Resell

Within just a few hours of the stock selling out, AMC’s Barbie Loungefly Roller Skate bags began reselling. Clearly, people can’t get enough of these bags, mainly because AMC didn’t make enough. Immediately after their release, Barbie Roller Skate Handbags were reselling for around $250.

That’s a profit of nearly $200 per bag, and remember, you were able to buy two! Since then, the average price has declined a bit, and they now sell for about $150. Still plenty of profit there, and it’s possible prices will rise again in the future.

For now, we recommend keeping your eyes peeled for any future restocks of these bags. It’s clear that the demand is there, and people will continue to pay well over retail for them in the future.
