Well, we have an answer to a question that’s been bugging collectors and resellers for weeks now. The Yankees have officially revealed the design of the Naruto promo cards they’ll be giving away next month, and it’s bit of a mixed bag. These will be “Chakra” cards, which have already been distributed at Gen Con earlier this month. The only difference is the Yankees’ logo stamped on the card. A reissue is disappointing, to be sure, but the silver lining is that the Gen Con cards are still flipping for over $1,000.

Yankees Naruto Card Design Confirmed

The Naruto Card Game’s official site confirmed today that the September 8 giveaway is the “CP-001 Chakra Card -New York Yankees Ver.-” That naming convention matters. It’s the same CP-001 card number as the version given out at Gen Con 2026, just a different “Ver.” with the Yankees logo added to the face. Bandai isn’t printing a new card for this promotion, which is what many collectors were hoping for.

Resellers have been tracking this opportunity since June. Ticket prices for the game have been rising ever since, with the sharpest spikes coming after Bandai revealed they would be producing a Naruto and TCG and when the cards were confirmed to be part of the new game. We were hoping that the card art’s reveal would trigger an additional spike, but things might be going in the opposite direction now.

What Naruto Chakra Promo Cards are Worth

This is the part that should get resellers’ attention. The Gen Con 2026 version of the Chakra Card, distributed to a much smaller pool of tutorial session attendees, is currently selling for $1,000 to $1,200 on eBay with multiple confirmed sold listings backing up that range. One lot bundled with a Gen Con playmat voucher and backpack sold for $1,800.

That’s not a card with an unknown ceiling anymore. It’s a card with a track record, and the Yankees version is functionally the same collectible with a bigger box logo.

Before today, presale listings for the still unseen Yankees card were selling in the $600 to $850 range, essentially a bet on hype with no confirmation of what buyers would actually receive. A lot of that hype assumed the Yankees would be wheeling out something uniquely cool and linked with the team, like the Dodgers viral One Piece promo cards from 2025 and 2026.

But we now know that’s not the case. It’s clear that this release won’t be a bust and we expect to see the cards reselling for a profit, but 40,000 new cards entering the market could definitely bring average sales prices down.

Again, this is not bad news and nothing to cry over. This is still an extremely lucrative flip. With ticket prices currently sitting at $270 and expected to rise as we get closer to the game, the window to capitalize on it is narrowing.
