Sony just gave Marvel fans and PS5 collectors a reason to set alarms for August 19. The newly revealed Wolverine themed console lineup leans hard into Insomniac’s Battle Reborn design, with claw marks slashed across the shell that show the consoles internals while it runs, including a spinning fan. PlayStation’s limited edition drops have a habit of disappearing fast and reselling well above retail.

Wolverine PS5 Console Collection Details

Insomniac and Marvel just revealed the full Wolverine gear lineup ahead of the game’s September 15 launch. Preorders go live August 19 at 10am ET through direct.playstation.com and select retailers.

The headliner is the PS5 Digital Edition, Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle at $649.99. It’s a Digital Edition, not the Pro model, but the design is the draw: three claw slashes cut across the body to expose the internals, including a visible spinning fan, wrapped in Wolverine’s signature yellow. It ships with a matching yellow DualSense controller and a code for Marvel’s Wolverine.

That same controller also sells standalone for $84.99, alongside a second design called Adamantium with a metallic finish inspired by Logan’s skeleton, same price. Console covers run $74.99 each: Battle Yellow for the standard PS5, plus Battle Yellow and Adamantium versions for the PS5 Pro.

The console bundle is the priority buy. Limited edition PS5 designs with a strong visual hook tend to sell out fast and hold value, and early resale in the $900 to $1,200 range looks realistic for a design this distinctive, even on the Digital Edition. The bundle already includes a matching controller, so there’s no need to add one just to sweeten a listing, though grabbing the Adamantium controller separately gives you a second item to flip if the console sells out first.

If the console moves too fast, the cheaper PS5 Pro covers are the next best entry point. We’ve seen limited edition PlayStation console skins flip in the past, especially when tied to iconic Marvel properties.

Risk is low either way. PlayStation Direct offers 30 day returns on eligible items, and orders can be canceled for free while still in “Order Received” status, before they ship. Double check for final sale language once preorders go live, since that would void the return window. Given the hype, expect this to move fast, so get your order in the moment preorders open.
