UGG and Gallery Dept. are producing a limited collaboration
Prices are $395 for slippers and $495 for boots
To buy a pair, you’ll need to enter a raffle
Earlier today, a new collaboration between Gallery Dept. and UGG went live. Classic shoes redesigned with a distinct flair are on the menu, and the distribution strategy is a little unusual. Rather than just dumping everything on UGG’s website, a raffle is open right now. You have a little over 12 hours to put your name in the hat, and winning entries will be able to buy these shoes directly. Many of the items from the collection are already selling at a premium on StockX right now.
It can be hard to find a comfortable pair of shoes that’s also extremely ugly. Sure, you could DIY it and punch some holes in your sneakers or hit your slippers with some spray paint, but real consumers know buying designer is always the way to go.
UGG has teamed up with LA-based design house Gallery Dept. to produce a new line of staggeringly ugly footwear. Is that the point? Does it really matter? Who knows, take a look for yourself.
The four items in the UGG x Gallery Dept. collab are two pairs of midcalf boots and two pairs of slippers, available in either chestnut suede or black leather. Everything has been haphazardly adorned in multicolored studs then drizzled with various paints by hand.
The collection’s design was inspired by the artist Josué Thomas’ pair of UGGs that he frequently wears in the studio.
If you want to secure a pair, you can enter a raffle for any of the shoes from the collection right now. The raffle closes tomorrow morning, and winning entrants will have the opportunity to buy a pair for either $495 or $395
And while we can’t sanction this collection for personal wear, it does seem like quite a profitable flip. Previous UGG collaborations like their Elder Statesman collection have resold for twice what they retailed for.
Earlier today there have been several confirmed sales of the Tasman Slipper in Chestnut Suede, all of which were over $500.
This is the most popular shoe from the collection. If you’re on the fence, we recommend entering the raffle for one of these pairs at the very least. If you win, flip it quick and send us a thank you message.
Subscribe to our newsletter if you want too learn more about reselling. UGGs have been pretty great flips lately, check out our articles on the Elder Statesman and Tazz collections here.
