A special set of both a blue and pink heart shaped vinyl pressing of Taylor’s 2019 City of Lover concert, recorded in Paris.
This was an easy drop to miss, considering that the initial announcement came not from Taylor Swift, but a tweet by a fan page.
Within 20 minutes of this tweet being posted, all supplies of the album had sold out.
The Taylor Swift heart vinyl is a limited edition vinyl pressing of her concert “City of Lover“, a one-day performance held in Paris in September 2019. Unlike other Taylor Swift concerts, City of Lover was remarkably intimate. Tickets were only available to fans who had purchased the Lover album, and then entered a contest to receive a ticket. Just 2,000 people were in attendance.
Since then, City of Lover has been lauded as one of Taylor Swift’s most notable and exclusive concerts, so it makes sense that she would capitalize on this with the new heart-shaped Lover album.
Speaking of which, yes, it really is shaped like a heart. The peculiar shape has no bearing on how the album plays, and vinyl is an ideal medium for unconvential designs.
It’s not clear how many albums were pressed, but we do know they went fast. Despite the lowkey announcement, fans were quick to gobble up stock, and it only took 20 minutes for a sold-out message to appear on the site.
Aftermarket sales of the Taylor Swift heart vinyl began the same day. Desperate fans are willing to fork over triple what the vinyl is worth to a reseller, and there’s no sign of that changing anytime soon.
Considering the thematic tie-in with Valentine’s Day, and the exclusive nature of the City of Lover concert, a restock may not be too likely.
If more of the Taylor Swift heart vinyl records are made available, we recommend picking one up ASAP. They can be resold same day, and it’s always nice to have a little extra cash around Valentine’s Day, right?
