The Elder Statesman X UGG Collab Sells Out and Resells

Last week, The Elder Statesman and UGG teamed up for a special collaboration. Six different items in a variety of colors and designs, with a special appearance by legendary stoner Seth Rogen. Now almost all of the items have sold out, and there have been a few sales on the aftermarket. We’ll be focusing on one item in particular, the Patchwork Slides, which are now reselling for upwards of $600.

The Elder Statesman, UGG, and Seth Rogen

First, let’s take a quick look at the players in this collection.

The Elder Statesman is an LA-based fashion brand that’s been in business since 2007. They’re especially known for their work with wool and other natural textiles, and high quality sweaters.

UGG is the brand behind every millennial woman’s favorite shoe, and they’ve branched out in recent years into new and more experimental offerings, along with high-end collaborations like these.

And of course there’s Seth Rogen. What else do we need to say? It’s not entirely clear how much influence Rogen had on the designs, but he was the primary model for the campaign.

So what do you get when you combine all of these forces of creativity and stir them up in a big, bubbling cauldron? “Seth Rogen for UGG X The Elder Statesman“. That’s the extremely sexy and evocative title that’s been applied to the collection, so that’s what we’ll go with.

This collaboration included six different items. Four of them were different pieces of footwear, but there was also a backpack and a beanie, which are both still available.

The Elder Statesman X UGG collection dropped on October 13 at 9 A.M. Pacific. Items ranged widely in price, but started at $200 and went up to almost $600.

And it was quite popular. Pretty much everything sold out the day of the drop, with the most popular items disappearing in just a few minutes.

The Elder Statesman X UGG Slides

The most important item from the collection for resellers was a pair of Patchwork Slides. These featured a blend of sheepskin dyed in multiple colors to form a literal patchwork. The patterns for the left and right slides are different.

The Elder Statesman X UGG Patchwork Slides sold for $250 through The Elder Statesman’s website. They were available in sizes from 6 to 13 men’s, and sold out in minutes.

And as we all know, where there’s scarcity, there’s opportunity. Going into this drop, we knew that there would not be many of these slides going around. The Elder Statesman’s products tend to be produced in quite limited numbers.

Right now, a pair of The Elder Statesman X UGG Slides are reselling for around $600. It’s still pretty early and volume is limited, but it’s a great sign for the potential value of these slides.

The resellers that managed to nab a pair are looking at $300 to $400 in pure profit off of a single sale. We didn’t know there were people out there so excited by the idea of a Seth Rogen-approved UGG slide, but we’re not complaining. Money is money, after all.
